cut the runners down about an inch and put 45deg bends on the plenum, now it clears the bonnet. Will cut another 2 inches off the runners and then should be fine
As you can see the plenum ended up being to long we shortend the bend on the end before the throtle body and the reducer was shortend aswell, clears the bonnet by 10 mm
The plenum will be attached to the runners with sillicon hoses that way the full weight isnt on the flange and a brace down to the block will hold in place.
I could also change it to a smaller flat plate one later if I wanted, but will see how we go with this first.

As much as the block stays together, but only when I want to take it to the creek, I will drive on the road with low boost, mild cam and a 3.08 diff will just cruise then change it all over for track days, its not a daily driver so I dont care about spliting the block. If it go's I will build another oneAnyways how much power do you want from this thing?

But last week I went back to the garage and basically just looked at the plenum and thought it was just too long, the pipe I bought in the first place only came in one meter lengths so I had another 500mm of pipe just sitting there doing nothing.
I cut an angle of 22 degs at one end of the pipe and put a 22 deg cut on the reducer giving me almost the right angle I need and as I dont have a drop saw I had to cut it with a jigsaw and then spend a bit of time with a file getting it right and now it is ready to weld and to start with the runner pipes it reduces the overall length by six inches but comes closer to the bonnet but I will work around that by reshaping the bonnet.
Before my uncle died I bought a tow car, as I was getting low in money having to get a tow truck every time the car had to go anywhere to get something done or at least thats what I told the wife it was for when I bought it home
Here's a few pics of the plenum

I all ready had the VN throttle body and trying to use it was why I had so many problems, but it was a easy fix instead of getting another one that would have fitted. It bolts strait to the plenum which takes another four inches out of the total length and all I have to do now is cut the plenum at an angle which aims the throttle body at the intercooler pipe and it all clears the bonnet finally. I am getting the plenum bored out so any of the welds or runner pipes that are sticking into the plenum are removed and it is left with a smooth surface inside, hopefully that happens next week.

aparently mine was flow tested to 400 hp and thats what they are all made to flow.Excellent project ! Just wondering what sort of figures these jzed heads flow out of the box ? they would have to be 300 + wouldn't they ?
F.T.
Joe's rail the NA one has 400 hp at the flywheel, the supercharged one stated 600+ on he's web site.

Changed my mine so many times about the shape of the manifold I just gave up for almost a year but started again a couple of weeks ago.
I cut a slot out of the pipe at 65mm and got some 8mm flatbar to weld the runners on, the inside of the flatbar will be bellmouthed.
Just have to get it welded.
Doesnt look like much yet but will all come together when its finaly finished.
