I have also had a look through some magazines and found an article and pics of a proto type LH. Interestingly they refer the new cars as SLR and SLR XU-2 as the 308

Thanks for the photos , i wonder when they changed over from the hq to the later type must have only been for a month or so , and Mike about what number is your car off the assembly line , TREX

Hi Guys.
A bit off-topic I realise, but the above lo-profile HQ-style console is actually from the later HQs.
The early HQ had a similar type but had no bin at all. It had 2 small pockets at the rear to store the seatbelt buckles when not in use. I think they changed to the long open bin type when seat belt 'stalks' were introduced.

if i'm reading the right number its 003535M or body number 426857H
what about your numbers, would be interesting to see some real early SL/Rs.
BTW mine is 4/74 not 3/74 as stated in previous post, my bad!

I wont put the whole up but 00054##M, and 75k on it 4205##M, engine 2##5, so from what i have found is very early 3/74, TREX
