Yeppp agree I love the rims, I have been looking into the same thing without the step up..... just to be different.

What backspace and offset are the rears?

101mm backspace. -11mm offset. Std width diff. They would look good without the step, don't know who would do them that way.

Got the front rims today.... 1 Damaged :banghead: The box isn't damaged so it will be interesting to see what happens from here. A shit fight
I reckon.

Also have the "Approval in principle" from the licensing dept. Just need to get the engineer on track now... I don't spose that will happen until I have another rim now.

All good fun, eh.

Passed engineering :clappin:  :nudie: Just have to wait for his report to come back. Pulled .8 of a G in
the brake test. Jack was impressed!

However............... This bloody engine has next to no oil pressure at idle now & is running like shit, rattles
- even with oil pressure. :Headbang2: I reckon I'll get it licensed then shove it back to the engine builder to sort it out.
If we had built this engine for a customer it would've been dropped back on my door step by now.

Whattyamean Phew? She's all legit! Bloody brakes work well Datto, front even locks up before the rears, I've never felt brakes stop like that before. Except maybe the VE SS, but that car was nearly 2 tonnes.

Fuggin engine's shitting me no end. Looks like We'll have to store the car at a mates place while we move to the coast & get it back to Bob's early in the new year.

For the record, the front tyres ended up being 245/40Rx17 & 255/40Rx17 rears. No rubbing anywhere.

I spoke with the engine builder this morning & we will take the Torry to Perth in the last 1/2 of Jan for him to sort out the issues. At least we can get it licenced now, but still can't drive it!!!
Going mad...

Hi Ayden,
I got the rims from Stan & Rita. Excellent service & they fit well. Looked after the repair on the bent rim for me also. Top job.
We are moving in Jan & into Albany for 2011, so I won't be teased by your old mans Torry on friday arvo's anymore!
Cheers,
Tony.

Right. Got the approval back from the vehicle safety branch (VSB) on xmas eve. Took the paper work to the licensing centre & sent them off. Now we need a vehicle modification permit! This is the 1st I have heard that we need such a thing & due to the local shire office's being shut this week I have to wait until next week to pay another $20 tax to get the permit. Just doing my bit for the GFC, I suppose.

Good new is that we move to the coast today & next week is the last week of owning our business! YEEAAAARRRR!!!!!!

Happy new year to you all!

Won't be doing too much this year Welby. Helping a mate put up colorbond fencing & paving on a casual basis. We move into Albany end 2010 & I also have some casual work lined up there with a mate who has a small earthmoving business. Just need interest rates to double & I'll be very bloody casual!

Cheers, Tony.

Got the engine all sorted, the lifters were collapsing. Goes well now, still a bit loud but we are pretty safe where we are living - no cops in town.
Got a balance tube fitted to the exhaust, now the tail pipe needs adjusting as it touches the diff now & then. At least we can drive it on the road.
A couple of crappy phone photos. When we give it polish we'll get a decent camera out.
