That's the plan Jordan. The missus wants to do a 2 door HQ or XA Falcon now. I might let her do it...

Yea Datto, they could have more offset, but then with a full car they would scrape & that would shit me more than the look.

What should I do with the rocker covers. Black, orange or full polish? What's the consensus?

Heath,
What's your thoughts on the rocker covers? Black, orange or polish?

I vote for black, possibly VHT black wrinkle finish.

Yeah, a matt black (like the CHEV rocker covers) with the Highlights in orange!

Are the moulding around the upper door been polished or std. If polished have to painted them in clear of some sort or have you kept them polished.

Not sure what you mean. I assume you are meaning the steel trim. If so it's std, scratches & all. Not polished or cleared.

I was told by a radiator manufacturer not to paint the core on an aluminium radiator is it makes it difficult if not impossible to repair.

A black flywire screen will stop the bugs and hide the radiator.

Your hatch looks awesome Tony. Very nice indeed. Good work.

As for the rocker covers, I agree with Andy, wrinkle finish matt black, but no orange highlights, the 80s are over people : )

Again though, great work.

Took Andy's advice & painted the rocker covers in wrinkle finish. Suits it well, I reckon.

Just have to put up the smell as the paint cures. I tried baking 1 in the oven, but the smell droves us out of the house!

Instruments are at Howard Instruments getting rewound & calibrated after the voltage regulator shat itself. So, another 3 weeks of not turning a wheel.... :banghead:

Missed your post earlier on mate haha. The wrinkle finish black looks a treat, really goes well on rocker covers

Can you get an alloy cap for the rocker cover? That one looks a little plasticcy and I think something in polished alloy would be a bit more classy, still looks great though :)

...you can't drive it without an instrument cluster?

It's the std cap. very plasticky.... I'll have to look around & see what options there are for the oil cap as it's a bit sad compared to the rest of it. However, it does it's job very well.

I reckon you could drive it without the dash, but I'm not that keen.

Tony, I love you car man!

The wrinkle finish on the rocker covers is perfect. Good choice.

As for the cap, just paint it wrinkle finish too.

All it needs now is a 4" tall air filter element : )

Thanks Tim. I thought that a VN model had a chrome oil cap, group A maybe? Would still look std but shiny. Might try the wrinkle on it 1st. Don'y know about the 4" aircleaner, might put a 1" spacer under the carb to get the carby up off the manifold a bit, that'll put that small aircleaner into the bonnet hole by itself.

Hi again Tony.

I ran a 1" bakerlite spacer under a modified 750 double pumper on an edelbrock torker manifold with a K&N 4" element and an airbox. It was a great combo, and I could see the air cleaner wobble about inside the scoop while I was driving : ) I know, small things amuse small minds. hahaha.

Sorry about the 3 pics, it's only the last one I wanted to show you, but that's how I scanned them into photobucket a while ago.

It was a good setup, until I replaced it with a tunnel ram and twin 600s. Now that was a good setup : ) Except I had to make the scoop taller to fit it.

Looks good Tim. Would the air box keep some of the smells from the engine bay coming into the plenum chamber at low speeds? I wish you hadn't showed me that, I like it. What was the bottom of the airbox made from? Was it just attached to the carby on the air cleaner bolt?
