Looking great.
Hey Welby,
I ended up with a Wilson rear spoiler! I rang him up, sent a cheque & he sends 1 over.
You must've upset him.
Yeah, i have that effect on a lot of people, ignorant, arrogant, nasty piece of work i am.
No as i said, no hard feelings, we agreed to disagree. The order was too big for him i guess. He kept saying he was not going to do many more.
Good to hear you got one. No argument on the quality.
Be ready by June will it?
Welby

I doubt it. I'll be in China now anyway...

That was my car a long time ago - I sold it off to a guy in Narellan (Sydney South) about 5 or 6 years ago! Does it still have the Muncie gearbox?
I sold it beacuse of rust in the rear quarters, don't know if that has been fixed since I sold it.
Good luck with the rebuild

I was thinking after I posted the above. It was a saginaw box with a hurst shifter. Shifted gears nice.Muncie was in it when I got it
This is how it looked when I got it.

I know the feeling, after all the hard work and the clear goes on it's a great sensation
Didn't go to the extremes you have though!

It's been good looking at the tranformation with the rust repairs as mine is going through the same stage atm. A few sections have been done and I haven't taken any pics yets when I should have.
My Hatch has a little more visible rust than yours but I know what you mean about finding some nasties underneath. We uncovered some in the front below the passenger side windscreen. Small hole about 3mm big in the channel on the pillar where the factory sealer wasn't present or fallen out. When the top section below the windscreen was cut to put in a patch we had to repace the underneath section as well as the water had run down the pillar to that point. Luckily the pillar was not all rusted. Naturaly the cowl panel is stuffed as most of them are which had nothing to do with the other section. Didn't see anything in your progress on having to repair the cowel panel or did you get lucky?
Must rember get photos and find how many pages back mine is now.
Looking forward to the whole thing finished

Yeah. Who would've thought the time we waited for Wilsons/Welby would still be stalling the build!About time too !
Hatchman,
The cowl area was very clean on this one. I have seen some where there are more holes than steel!
Thanks for the comments fella's. We have the interior & the dash back now also, however door trims are proving impossible to get. Anyone got any suggestions? I'm chasing the original style, slate/golball. I think the door trims are all we need to get it backtogether.

Alternatively, you can get them off here from some forumers.
It's only money !!

The joint in Armadale done my dash. I have a set ordered with her & also with rare parts in Welshpool. I have had the ones ordered with rare parts for 14 months but the manufacturer is going backwards. I think there is only 2 door trim builders in the country & they are both flat out, apparently. You would think that they wouldn't be 12 months behind.

That rubber under the top of the front spoiler looks neat too, it kind of joins the two together a lot better
That's what we reckoned. We were unsure of how it should be, but I think it joins it all up.

We have removed & overhauled the steering column. Fitted the brake & clucth master cylinder, new clutch pedal from Mal Wood fitted in great for the new later master cylinder. Been painting up the grille, head light surrounds & other bits & pieces. organising new screws & lots of other little bits & pieces (my spare parts bloke is getting shitty with me always wanting 12 of these & 12 of that!).
Got some brake line & fittings waiting for the new front end to be fitted. Have another K frame here to do up to swap but it's missing the lower control arms, so it's probably just as easy to remove mine to do it up.
Ordered some door trims direct from the supplier today & the timing was perfect as they are doing a batch of hatch trims right now, so they should only be 3 weeks away.
I reckon we might be in it by Christmas, but you can never be sure.
