Aaaaah yet another problem arises, in NSW Historic cars carry specific Plates, numbers followed by H on white backgrounds with purple lettering, obviously not so in the far off State of Queensland!!!
Good ol Peter Beatty.
For next year how can we identify Historic cars from other states, is it on their rego label? Anyone, anyone, voodoo economics? Sorry Ferris Bueller's day of flash back!
The Fatman, Garry
Grant was talking about my car LOL, up here (Queensland) a car on Club Rego (actually called Special Interest Vehicle Rego) can have either:
"S" plates (special interest plates starting with an S and corresponding numbers)
Historic Plates (little square ones - mainly used by old vintage cars)
Personalised Plates (any offered by PPQ - Personalised Plates QLD - think there are like 20 different types let alone colours etc)
Standard Plates (if a car is already road registered and just switching to SIV rego they can keep there standard plates, only an unregistered car going onto SIV rego needs one of the 1st three options) Oh and yyeeeeeessssssss before everyone tells me you cant keep standard plates on a SIV car, you can - I did for 2 years with the LC and Grants car has had SIV rego for 3 years with his standard plates too

....... confused yet ?????
The only way to really tell is by the rego label. There is a hatched border around the label. Thats it, no special wording or colour - same label as everyone else just with the hatched border.
What about the other states? What are your 'historic'/'club'/SIV rego rules when it comes to identifying with plates or labels??? Be interesting to find out
Cheers
Kel
