TORANAFEST UPDATE

I can tell you that at the same time last year, we had six, yes six, entries to Toranafest.. This year it is a liitle more that that..

As at yesterday we have got 51 paid pre entrants to Toranafest 2007!!!

We have already rec'd entries from QLD, VIC and the ACT. Not to mention from just about every region of NSW!!! We have already surpassed the total number of pre entrants that we had in 2006 and 2005 and going off the figures that we have, we should well exceed the 110 entries that we have planned on!! It is shaping up to be a big one and one that you won't want to miss!!

To those who have not yet pre entered, be sure to get your entries in prior to the 1st Sep 2007. If you are thinking of entering on the day, just be aware that you may miss out on a goodie bag, and this years bag will have some special items in it!!

Apart from the static show, there are a few things to keep you all busy on the day, these being;

Kids colouring in competition where the kids can win prizes, as well as expressing their artistic flair. Also for the kids will be the obligitory rides and Jumping Castle.

For the adults, there will be a Torana quiz that will get you thinking about the Torana. Prizes will be awarded for the first correct entry drawn. :deal:

Also, we will have our famous auction that will have over $1000 worth of items. The items for the Auction have been kindly donated from the likes of Rare Spares, Pitcrew, Classic Oz Wreck, Kelly Holden and Newcastle City Holden, just to name a few. I can tell you that some of the items have not been released yet, other items have not been seen new in many years, other items are very rare, and some are limited editions.... a little crypitic but I will explain more closer to the date..

Also, we will have Dave McLean and Harry Firth there on the day to anwser questions and to sign your memorabilia. For those of you who might have caught up with Harry in Cairns, will know that he is quite a character!! :spoton:

As with Toranafest last year, we will have an assortment of Traders there to temp you into lessening the weight in your wallet. :D :D

We have had a look at the trophies and have decided to increase the numbers in a couple of categories so the total numebr of trophies stands at 44!! All these will be judged by our ANSMA Judges. I can confirm that our own GMH-Torana Forums will be sponsoring the "Encouragement Award" this year, which is great!!

anyway, that will do at the moment.. just something to whet the apetite.. As I have said before, this will be one car show not to miss!!

Torana on!!

cheers
Mick

Thanks Mick. You guys are doing a fantastic job up there, keep up the good work. Hopefully next year. Might have something a little different for you then.

I was particularly happy to see Holden finally come to the fore, or was it a local dealer? Either way, good to see.

Keith,
pretty sure that yours is in and processed.

Yella,
Thanks mate, all the effort is worth it when we have a good turn out on the day..
Yes, it is Holden Ltd, themselves, this year who are one of the major sponsors. Some of the local dealers are throwing in stuff for the auction as well, which is great.

Red
Be good to see you there, Mick. Spoke to Andy R the other night and he is coming. In his wife's Torana though..

Hey Toddles

Any entries rec'd after the 2nd Sept cannot be guaranteed a goodie bag as we have limited numbers.

We we still take pre entries up untill about the 9th Sep. This is so we don't have any lost in the Aussie Post universe.

Entrants can enter on the da, but it will cost you $35.00 and not $30 if you pre enter.

I hope that answers your question..

cheers
Mick

Hi Mick,

Is it possible that I could deposit my entry fee directly to a nominated bank account and fax the entry form? If so, send me bank details and I'll do it today and use my rego as a reference.

Came last year and had a great relaxed day, looking forward to coming back.

Cheers,

Craig.

Craig

would prefer a cheque or money order as we do not have visibilty of our account online to check when a deposit would go in..

If that is a problem, PM me and we will work something out..

Might be a good idea to keep the locations of accomodation to PM for security purposes.

:D Hi Guys,

Lotta discussion on Toranafest 2007 and its good to see all the good intentions to attend this year.

If there are some that need last minute camping accommodation so they can sleep next to their cars I have a limited area for campers at my place about 20 minutes from Newcastle and at the end of the Freeway from the south and the Pacific Hwy from the north.

I need to know about 2 weeks out who wants to stay at my place but be warned you might get roped into filling some goodie bags or some other task for Toranafest if you arrive friday or saturday morning. There is always a price to pay!

My yard is fully fenced about 1.5 acres and I have security lighting if needed and car trailers can easily fit in.

If you want to avail yourself of Hunter Valley Torana Club hospitality PM me.

Garry :spoton:
