Not to mention all the other hi-performance cars of the era down here too.
People would be amazed at the collection of desirable factory muscle cars that are in my street alone!

and all the, dare we say it, the GT's and GTHO's, in Georgetown Tasmania there were around 3 or 4 XY GTHO's
in the town, when new.
Georgetown in the 1970's, had Comalco and Tempco and the Hydro Thermal Power Station be built, and there was a
Wood Chip Mill there as well, so lots of well payed workers buying Beasty Cars and on the West Coast of Tassy, u had lots of
Muscle Cars, as there are mines all over the West Coast of Tasmania, in Rosberry there a mine, that still going to this day, and Renison Mine that just out of Zeehan, that still going to this day, shut a couple of times in recent tmes but re-opened back up
and going, and there is Queenstown World Famous Copper Mine, Mount Lyell, thats be going for over 120 plus years, in the early 1900's when the whole world was broke, Queenstown was the worlds richest town, where two mining companys were waisting huge amounts of dollars competing against each other, and the rest of the world was in the great depression .
Tasmania in the 1970's bought more muscle cars than any other state in Australia, going off our population size to cars bought ratio
So u would think there still would be lots of 1970's muscle cars in the state, unless all been crashed all gone to mainland over the years.
Danny Clarke from Georgetown the World Famous Bike rider has a Green XY GTHO Falcon still, he had from new i think. i bet
Western Australia with all the Mines there has has lots of muscle cars as well.

I have the L34 and a HQ Coupe, my next door neighbour has an XW Phase II, my neighbour on the other side of me has an A9X sedan, HR X2 wagon, a supercharged 360ci Charger, XY ute running a 460 and a fastback Mustang. He did also have a 327 HK GTS Monaro which he sold. Then there is the guy that lives directly across from me who has an XA GT sedan.
There was also an LJ GTR just around the road and I know of a brown LJ XU-1 thats only 2 minutes away from me too.
I live in Muscle Car paradise!

In an old magazine his car was advertised for sale after he had just served a three month suspension for using illegally modified heads, so he was going back to race sports sedans.

That metallic green (supermint)hatch wasnt an a9x from memory but it was a bloody nice car, big wheels, flares and If I remember rightly it had side draught webbers on it, it was green all over with no black paint outs. it was bought by a guy at Midway point by the name of Craig G and he had it for about 2 weeks and rode it off. He was a young bloke who wasnt into cars, took out a big loan and couldnt drive (peed me off big time). Actually I think a guy at the Campbelltown garage bought the wreck and repaired it. Eagle did your car not have flares when you first bought it as I looked at one the same colour as yours that was for sale in Hobart in the 80s, the guy worked for a transport company at the wharf. Also the black a9x we were talking about was a 4 door. cheers. Brett "
yes brian fixed the green one and traded it in on a brand new VK blue meanie, cheers dion

Yes I remember that black A9x. I lived at Midway point/Sorell and I remember it passing through town. My old SS hatch in Mandarin red (CI 0308) also had the white trim. You could have bought a lot back then they were all around the 10 - 15 grand mark. my next door neighbour sold a "big tank" e38 for $7000 in original condition, if we only knew. great memorys. cheers Brett
Hi Brett
I Bought a 1977 LX SS Hatch,308 V8, M21 4Speed Mandarin Red with White interior from a Cop that lived at the Rokeby Police Academy, Chris Chivers I think his name was, the year I bought it was 1983 I think, I wonder if its the one you owned.

The Black A9X Hatch with the White interior from Hobart, Tas rego number ZZ5000, owned by Cameraman that worked at Tas TV station, was all ways parked out the front on Tas TV, He sold it, last time I seen it, was in Dave Powell Super Wheels Car Yard for sale for $26,000 in 1985, have not seen the car since, any one got any Photos of the Black A9X Hatch from Hobart, I heard its over the mainland, maybe in Qld.
