Mine is 6m x 12m and currently holds 3 cars and lots of junk
I also have a double length carport too
And 156 sq m at the workshop for overflow... lol
Actually I'm down to 6 cars now so I'm doing good
Just 1 LJ to get rid of and I'll be at a comfortable level

Pics one day when I get a better camera

Has anyone ever built their own shed from scratch sourcing their own materials before? If so, is it cost effective and did you have to meet any standards?

Oh, and here is my current shed, it's actually my auntie's, I've just taken most of it over!! Excuse the mess, it has been cleaned up since!!

Built mine from a Highline supplied kit, 7.5m x 6m, $6600 with window, PA door, one sliding door on 6m end, two whirly birds and two sky lights all in colour bond. Not sure what it would cost to do it from stratch but I doubt it would be any cheaper. If you are going to get council approval you will need an engineers structural drawing. At least with a supplied kit you know you have everything you need and parts are cut and drilled where they need to be.

Love the ute, is that yours?

While we need the rain, it's certainly slowing down my shed progress and I need it up soon to fit this yellow thing in lol

Just pored the slab in mine yesterday, all that is left is to paint the floor, wire it up, fit the double trough, make the loft and fabricate two new steel benches then move all my gear back in.

Thanks for the info, legend. I think the kit form sounds like the way to go. The ute is my fiance's, just a tidy cruiser.

Nice shed and SLR5000 there. I'm praying next weekend is clear, thats 2 weeks now I have been waiting to go and get my shed. The Sydney weather hasn't exactly been fine the last few weeks.

Ok shed experts.

Who has experience with building their shed first and then concreting it? Apparently the iron rusts due to contact with the slab. Have heard you can two pack the iron before cementng to stop this but would like to hear from people who have done this, or not done it and had rust problems later on.

My preference is to do the slab last so l can put bollards around the perimeter of the shed and in the openings, its much easier to do this accurately once the shed is erected

Cheers Mondie

I've posted these before. But now we have a shed thread, I thought I'd stick them up here.

It's two small industrial units together, around 210 square metres. Since those pics I've done some shelves & benches, moved some more cars in & tidied up a little. I'll get some more pics when it's all cleaned up.
