another thing that has come up, is security Jason.
from Dave in an earlier post:-
Line the walls with 100 x 100 steel reinforcement mesh,
will aid in hanging things and intruder break-in's. .

Final update on my shed build. Got all the shelves & benches done. Picked up this high density panelling that's 600mm wide called Metrapanel.. 650kg/m3 so bloody heavy! (they make prison walls out of it so its pretty strong lol)
Only cost me a dollar for all of it so it was a relatively cheap way of building what I wanted the way I wanted it
Had the steel sitting around from a king size bed my brother made ages ago (he works for NZ Steel so makes sense I guess lol) & used the 12mm custom wood sheets I've had for ages to line the back of the shelves & the wall too.
All I have to do now is fix down the vice & make a couple of stands out of some wheel rims I've got & steel tube for the drill press & bench grinder then I'm pretty much set up..
This is the "throw everything in the corner" end of the shed one day I'll get back into the hatch but firstly it's the HQ as I want something on the road within the year.
Still gotta hook up the 3 phase power & do the lights/power points but for now I'm happy

Cheers man, just happy to be almost done. Once I'm on top of all the shitty little jobs around the place (are they ever all done when you own a lifestyle block lol) I can make a start on the HQ, then the hatchback.
Stay tuned for a boring amateur HQ restoration thread starting soon haha..

I've got mine near the door at front of the shed and the 4 post hoist behind it.
So drive thru/under 2 post and onto the 4 post hoist.

Finally got around to painting the floors. What a difference it makes, so much easier to wipe up a spill. Used epoxy two pack paint from Bunnings.

Ripper of a job Len,
like the yellow identification section.
In industry, we paint areas for their use,
grey for forklifts, red for machinery, yellow stripes on walkways etc.

It'll be 9x9x3, I was going to put it in the end bay but with the roller doors only being 2.5m wide I don't think I'll be able to. Was wondering how painful would it be to have it in the middle bay? With cars on both sides of it instead of just one side? All depends on the layout of your shed mate.

At 3m high you may have to go in the centre for clearance? Hoist choice can determine that too....open floor hoist or cable base etc.
It may be a bit of a pain in the centre.
In that case id place it at the back of my shed and set up work bench space etc either side and park cars behind it rather than alongside it.

Most hoist are around 3.5 meters wide for a 2 post so parking next to one might be a issue if you have 3 meter bays.

Hi,
8x9x3.2m eves. 22 deg. roof pitch. Overhead type 2 post hoist.
Put the hoist over to one side to maximise the rest of the floor space.
Seems to work ok...but like all sheds, the minute its done,it suddenly isnt big enough...doh!
Hope that helps.
