wow, someone just found their retirment fund!!

did you pay much for it or did it just find you??

i think he has the head pip, and googled the numbers on the head, and found someone who was after an XU-1 head who had quoted those numbers.

hence he was trying to verify if it was infact an XU-1 head, and score!!!
I think thats the story anyway from how i read it.

CHEERS Chris

a few years ago when i blew up the original 173, a mate at work told me his mate had this worked 202 lying around, so he called him and a week later i bought it. that was in 2002. today i got bored and started googling numbers and punched in the numbers on the head and seems its a genuine bathurst xu-1 head. i hope. i paid a grand for the whole engine

thats the story orange lj lol

seems its a genuine bathurst xu-1 head.

Hi

All XU-1s of that period range had H 25 2 - not only Bathurst Specials. Mine is a 10/72 common garden variety XU-1 and it has a H 25 2.

Contrats on a great pick-up.

Hi

It's had some inlet port work done, but I wouldn't think it will affect the price. Did it have roller rockers?

Hi

Most of the original XU-1 overhead gear components have different part numbers to the "ordinary" 6 cylinder stuff. I am not sure whether it is all interchangeable.

should be ok, just need to machine my 12port head to accept 7/16 screw in studs, then i can bolt my roler rockers on.

The XU-1 head is just about sold!!!
