broads LC ran 14s i think, was a quick little package. I know your running a triple carbied 202 but what else?

Not much mate. Basically ACL race series pistons, Crow 35604 hydraulic cam, 10:1 comp, ported blue head with stock valves, set of headers and 2.5in exhaust. It's all balanced and built to be resistant to a good flogging, but it's a pretty mild little motor performance wise, made 141rwhp last time it was on a dyno.

Yep, I'll be out there next time too. With Spring/Summer coming up, there should be a lot more GMH-Torana events :D

Car should be registered again by then, engine woes hopefully be fixed today...and hopefully nothing breaks until then!

Congratulations to those who ran their PB's.
I think Keith getting into the 14's with a stock 308 is quite an achievement.
Anthony's car was quite a beast and would be good to see him here, getting 9's on pump juice was the highlight for me for the night.
Met some very cool and genuine people.
Sorry i never got to meet Andrew or Chris, to be honest some of us were thinking you guys never made it, don't know what happened there.
Anyway looking forward to catching up next time, for pizza maybe?

It was good to see some familier faces. As someone else said most people weren't standing near there cars so I didnt really get to meet anyone I didn't already know. It was good to see Tiny, Keith, Judd, Josh and John again. My engine builder was also there in his HQ so I was hanging out with him for alot of the time too.

Who owns the blue torry with the chute? That thing is wild! Nutboy's car is one hell of a machine too. Did he run it? If so what did he pull?

Also if anyone saw that light blue hatch there - I met that guy last week, I bought a radiator off him from ebay. That's an awsome machine and it runs 400 small block and does low 11s. I told him bout the forums, hopefully he finds the place and joins up.

Marty

That thing of yours is unreal mate! It handed me my arse for the last run of the night, I got a good look at your time until I came sailing past the boards some 5 seconds later! hehehe :D

Great night guys we will have to do it again. The reason I didnt race my car was before i painted it was a regular racer running consist 11.6 @ 117 mph. Its only been on the street for 6 months so once a few stone chips appear I will get it out again and have some fun. GMH355 snapped an axel so hopefully he will sort it out soon and get it out again. 12.0 @ 125 MPH pretty impressive and the car is a work of art. The amount of people that walked pass the car and looked under the bonnet and walked away scratching their heads was incredible.

Hi guys nice meeting you all. You are all a very friendly bunch of guys & girls. Special thanks to TINY organising a great night just hope a few more people will pull there fingers out & get down there next time. Its there loss you all missed out on a great night. I ran a 12.22 @ 110.70mph 178.15kph Had three runs on the third pushed a bit to hard on the line & broke a axle trying to chop up Keith. (NO im only joking Keith) I was trying to hit 11s I just push it to hard on street tyres. It wheel spun to hard of the line & when I hit second gear BANG. Now I will get 31spline Billet axles & run my slicks next time....Jason..

Thanks to Tiny for arranging the lane. It was good to catch up with some of the regulars that I have met before and some new faces. Congratulations to all those that ran a PB. I don't know why we don't see more members at these events. Based on the 1500+ views on this thread there does seem to be some interest. Everyone I have met is very friendly and approachable, looking forward to the next event even if my car isn't back on the road.

For those of you wondering what happened, I snapped both axles on my second pass. In hindsight I am lucky I babied the car on the first pass otherwise I would have done the damage first up. Those M/T street radials are very impressive. I didn't even do a big burn out just enough to get the water off the tyres. The only ford part on my car let me down :tease: . Couldn't handle the torque of a holden V8.

I watched everyone race from the stands until the my tow arrived, didn't get a chance to say goodbye because the towie had an early start the next day and wanted to get back. I think the only other failure of the night was Jason's axle hope you get it fixed soon mate thats an impressive LC. Was intending on catching up with Broads he was building his car the same time I was building mine on the old forums, always next time mate.

Hi GMH355 thanks. I got a price on some billet axles from Mark Williams Components at 26 alexander st auburn nsw 2144 9644 5765 the price is $990. with no bearings or studs & with is $1100 that is for the pair. for standard ones are $300 to $350 each your better of betting the billet there a lot stronger....Jason..P.S dose anyone have some good photos of my LC. I looked at badgerphotogaphy website & there is no good photos only one & thats not a good one. When Grant@dragster put his on Ill have a look...

if everyone in the lane could post up their Name, Forum Name, Model, Rego # and best time in the following format-

Andrew,
Thanks for organising the photography, we didn't really get a chance to chat.
My details are: John Lancuba, Dirty Deeds, Barbados Green L34, 12.61 @ 117.47mph.

G'day again and well done to all the peeps that I got around to meeting ( some for the second & 3rd time ). Special Thanks to Tiny for organising the lane and ensuring the night flowed smoothly. Top job, thank you mate.

Here's how my night unfolded:
CAR = L34, 380hp 308, 100 shot of NOS, Top Loader, 9 inch, 15x8x24.5 rear slicks, front runners. This car has run a best of 12.44 @ 118mph on street tyres. This was the first time out with slicks....

1st pass - I ran next to GMH355 ( beautiful/tough car ). I got a bit out of shape and buttoned off after hitting fluid that the previous car put down ( a Honda, I think ).

2nd pass - Ran next to Tiny ( man, that car sounds good at full noise ). Again got too much tyre spin, and again buttoned off. I think I had too much air in the rear bags.

3rd pass - ran next to Tiny ( again ). Tiny did a HUGE burnout and almost took out the tree, the officials, the concrete barriers and the grandstand !!! Nice save job mate...
My car launched pretty hard, but the Top Loader didn't like the flat changes and wouldn't select 2nd or 3rd gear. I got the shits and slammed into 4th and ran it through for a modest 13.6 @ 113mph

4th and Last pass: Took Jason's advice and set the rear tyres at 9psi. Ran along side a schmik Orange XR8 Falcon ( sorry, I didn't get around to saying hello ).
My torry again launched hard, wheel spun heaps, but it managed to run through for an ET of 12.61 @ 117 MPH.

It should run 11's but have to do something about that tyre spin.

I had a great night and met some new peeps and others that I hadn't seen for a while. That's what it's all about !!

Cheers and Thanks again.

Your mph tells the story, you should be in the 11s if u can get it to hook.

Hopefully my thing is running for the next gmh drag day

Dodgy looking bloke, that would decribe most of us out there :tease:. Not referring to you personally but Nutboy noticed that heaps of people had been admiring his car when he wasn't there because of all the fingerprints on the windows :<_<: . You should of come over and introduced yourself we are always ready for a chat.

LC-TORANA-1970, thanks for posting up that billet axle info. Looks like the Mark Williams race series 31 splines are the way to go.

Dirty Deeds as already stated that mph easily equates to a 11 sec qtr. Even more impressive being a manual. Only after chatting did we realise we had rubbed shoulders but never met at the old eastern creek strip when we were racing the LJ. Your car has always been immaculately presented even back then.

i only looked, maybe breathed on his windows a little, drooled a bit too. his interior is so schmik.

but yeah, i have a look but dont touch policy, i always get pissed when people touch my car at shows and stuff actually even in a car park, so i apply it to all things

Hi Andrew (Broards)

everyone in the lane could post up their Name, Forum Name, Model, Rego # and best time in the following format-

Andrew Broadley, Broads, LC GTR, BR04DS, [email protected]

That would be great! If you would rather do it by pm or omit certain details from the story like your full name or rego number then please let me know, but the rego number will help getting hold of the images. That's the plan anyway!

Keith Cunningham, Keith1962, LH SL/R5000, AB72PQ, [email protected]

cheers Keith
