Just deleted my sh#tbucket (photobucket) acc. As the useless thing crashed all the time pics were lost and the last time i tried to use it all i could get were my pics of trip to Hawaii.....
Ive never been to Hawaii, i don't even have a passport so f@#k knows what happened there.
Are pics only able to be posted if they're externally hosted? Ie: a link is used?

DO NOT USE PHOTOBUCKET, they are expecting you to pay for a premium account to allow you share pics on 3rd party websites such as forums.

Im sure when I first started using photobucket it was billed as a free image hosting service. I mean, thats going back a while like 2006ish?

Flickr is nice and easy to use but the pictures don't actually appear where you post them but instead it generates a link for others to click on which takes them back to flickr where they can be viewed.

Works for me, generate an embed code, cut and paste the image source ie <scriptblahblah img src=''http.flickr.whateverpic.jpg'' alt blahblah> (the red bit) into the image url... Not exactly easy or ideal, but I'll do that all day long before paying $399.

Quite a few posts around the internet all complaining of the same issue with PB. Not cool.

Do you have to delete or will it just not be hosted there anymore if you don't pay?

Not sure if you have to but just did it out of anger, filled in their Feedback section to tell them what I thought. Hoping that if enough people stop using them, they might go broke not that it would help us though.

Cheers,

Liz :)

We think we have a workaround ... please do not delete your p-backet accounts yet
We're working on a hack to keep the pics on the forum exactly where they were

Stay tuned

How to use the sites IMAGE UPLOADER
hope helps, (and correct! lol)

at bottom where says to "reply to comment"..
-click the "more reply options" blue tab
-write your post (even if only a word, SOMETHING has to be written)
-click on one of the "choose file" tabs
-will open up a window to source your image, from your computer.
-choose your file then click "open"
-then click on "attach this file" (it will take 3-4 seconds to download)

(DON"T click the "add to post" option.
Is simply an EXTRA for people wanting to attasch the image in a specific section of a post. is NOT necessary.
but, if do wish to use.. AFTER you have uploaded your images.. (clicked on "attach this file")
click your mouse/curser at the place in post want a specific image to be placed..
then click "add to post" option for that image..
and it will place image at that point.)

then click on "add reply".

done.
------

you can add up to 2 images easily, but more can be troublesome.
