Can't believe I've missed this thread until now. Thought it might have been someone restoring a HB, but this is re-creating it into an awesome piece of machinery. I totally love it, very much my thing. Keep up the good work and quick updates.

Is the motor an existing item, cos its not counted in your costings there. What sort of power are we talking? Box?

Hi guys, its been a couple of weeks and the block has been picked up and the forged crank and 3D H-beam rods are on the way. I am ordering the Brodix track-1 heads next week. This combo without nitrous should have 450hp at the wheels and with nitrous around 550hp at the treads.

The T350 is currently being fully manualised with a shift kit and all seals replaced along with a 3000 hi-stall.

The things I have now got back is most of my chroming, also the gauges, however still waiting for my tyres to come in for the front as they do not fit to my taste. I have almost finished the tpi injection 327 motor.

One of the six gauges!, I carpeted the tunnel, interior is almost done, nothing fansy, just veloured race seats, new carpet should be here tomorrow.

The motor I am building and selling to fund for the lc gtr. I think I will be building another one of these and possibly keeping it in the gtr for a bit.

The LC GTR is still in the fricken paint shop. I pulled it out of the shop and have another family friend doing the job now. Won't be ready until Christmas, now, meh what ya gonna do?

The HB will be flat out, but I dont see it hitting 11,000, more around the 8,500 mark. But I'll try, hahaha! :rockon:

Yeah, I think that tacho would best suit a ported rotary, not a V8. I've got the 10,000rpm version to go in one of my V8 Toranas but yeah, I think about 7,500-8,000 will be about the upper limit it will see.

You'd get your arse handed to you by any of the PAC Performance built cars. I'd probably rather the SBC HB though. Whats wrong with rotaries anyway?

Nothing if you have about 40k to milk into one. My old man has blown about 20k on his motec injected, peripheral ported nitroused, doweled, etc, etc, motor and its its 5th rebuild by REVS, one of which was done by Pac Performance. He's seen the light. Hes getting 800hp out of his blown 383 camaro, and hes a mechanic.

Also of course it would get killed by (one of) the pac cars, I'm 22 and do it all myself (self taught everything), those guys have about ten guys all working together. therefore saying that I would get done by one of the pac cars is relating it to rotary vs top fueler, I definitely know which one would win in that case... The fricken V8! :rockon:

I'd rather the old school pushrod muscle over the rotaries but I do like them too. Its hard to beat a SBC HB in style with an ugly 4 door RX-3/808, etc. which is what a lot of those Pac cars are.

Like I've said to some of the other guys. Your going to have to kill someone in the car to get in, cos I dont think they'll budge from that car at Nats, haha, but yeah if there is room at Nats, for sure! :spoton:
