Okay for you who haven't seen it, its coming along pretty well. I ran the 1/2 inch brake line, mounted the transcooler underneath the car with a fan to keep it really cool during comps. I linked all the nitrous up. Linked all the fuel fittings and line from cell, to fuel pump, to filter, to surge tank, to big fuel pump, to regulator, to carbies! I installed 90/10 shocks and coils, notched the backend more to get it lower, ran battery cable, and am still doing the wiring (very painful).

It is now at my ole mans work on his hoist so I could do all of the tedious stuff and will be at ABS on tuesday. I should have the wiring finished by next weekend and ready for 3inch straight through on the following tuesday.

Heres some recent pics guys, catcha!

Yep, it looks tiny compared to that 383 motor.

Front has been raised 2.5 inches so it doesn't scrape anymore

Cause: Tack welded a brake line bracket underneath the car, it then caught fire to the back seat. The car sat their stuck up 10 feet on the hoist whilst the compressor that ran the hoist shat it self. After 30 seconds I got it down and this was the end result!

That is very sad to see, i too learnt the hard way with the ol ladys Gem but it only cost me a door trim, will always pull any trim before welding now.

Thats amazing... bad luck matey. I just read the whole thread and got to the last page as was shocked. Oh well, you will most likely have to paint it now, so that takes care of the paint blemishes you mentioned.

Good luck mate...hang in there.

Cheers for the support fellas. The car is still on schedule and I have just dropped it off at ABS to have ev erything done with the brakes. I will have it back Friday and the seats are currently being re-done. As for the boot I will sand that back and s pray it roughly just to get it passable at Nats.

I'll let you know how I go this weekend. Cheers again.

I think I will just prep the burnt paint work and spray it with aerosol as it is no use spending massive dollars when the paint is crud anyway. Doing the bootlid tomorrow and when the car comes back I will do the damage on the body. Cheers for the encouragement guys, means a lot. Well, back to it... :fool:

Good News. I have almost finished the wiring with big help from a best mate. It cranked over last night, but of course I didn't want to start it without the headers and exhaust, so I am taking it in today, should have it back by Thursday night. It should be running by the weekend! :spoton: Will record a video on first fire up for all of you guys! :spoton:
