Yeah they are close, but I will exhaust wrap the headers heaps and tuck the brake lines in as far as possible. I'll send you some pics of the exhaust tomorrow, and fingers crossed with a video of the engine firing up for the first time! :spoton:

Hey adamlcgtr383blownchev,

Top work!!! realy tuff HB!!!! :spoton:
Have you thought maybe you could get the exhaust headers HPC coated. Pacemaker at richmond does it. They can do it inside and out of the pipes. I have friends who do it on their turbo cars to lower there under bonnet temp (they also hits boost quicker if ya do it on a the turbo car)

Good luck with the rest of the it!!!!

Well... Got almost most of the crap out the way. Re-routed the fuel line and ran another transcooler and lines as the previous one got munched getting it off the trailer. My best mate has almost finished the wiring, just needs the lights on all the gauges now. I timed it. I then had carby bowl probs when getting fuel up...

But adjusted and by the time I did all of that it was 12:30 so I couldn't start it up, this is why...

Twin 3inch exhaust with low restrictive straight through mufflers measuring only 120cm in length, yep tomorrow at 1:00pm the neighbours will meet 'TOP GUN'.

You blokes are crazy :spoton:

I wish you could see the smile on everyones face when we watched that video.

Top effort Adam, the 'stockish' look of that car stuffed full of engine is just spot on.

Congratulations on your work.

Thanks guys. I have never been sooooo happy. Incase you didn't know I am the guy on the left with a massive "wow" factor on my face. My old man was adjusting fuel mixtures to try and stop the back fuel bowl from leaking. I need to take it off and adjust the float height, hence why I was soaking up the fuel with rags. Also don't worry, the smoke at start up was just oil the was spilt prior to start up on the headers. My mate and I linked up an accelerator cable to it and it work really well. Its a cable from rare spares to suit HQ-HZ, I then used the kick down bracket on my cable holster to hold the other end near the fire wall. We couldn't believe how perfect it works, all I can say is.... ABOUT f*ckING TIME!
