Have you not seen the advert currently running on TV Pat?Killer wasps?????
In my NOT SO humble opinion that has to be one of the worst adverts ever. My stomach turns every time they run it. Having said that people obviously take note.
Cheers

Mike: Was "Shootout mode" used on both Dynos to correct the values back to a base line? Did you do any mods to the car between the two runs? What was the weather like between the two days?
It's an interesting comparison, and this is why i've never been keen on using dyno reports as a bragging tool because there are so many factors! i dynoed mine for tuning sake and also to get a ballpark figure of horsepower made!
Very interesting, thanks for sharing!

And also, how does power change between Shootout and the other mode. I have never fully understood it.

Shootout mode was designed to bring a level playing field to it to give a baseline correction factor to all runs so that they can compare one sheet with another.
As you know your car runs better on a cooler denser day than on a hot day, and so dyno reports on the same car on different days will be different. They measure all the barometric differences (Ambient temp, air pressure, etc etc etc) and aply a correction factor to bring those back to an effective Zero figure.
If you remeber seeing a dyno sheet of eddie tassone's twin turboed commodore of about 1800hp... one of the sensors read the IT figure ( Intake Temp) as 200 degrees ( from memory... the figures might be wrong!), and caclulated the horsepower was HUGE cause it was breathing very hot air. That's an example of how it works when the real figure should have been something around maybe 1200Hp.
Hope this helps a bit mate! of course that's my basic understanding of it all!

Not sure about shootout mode but conditions were similar. The difference between the 2 dyno readings is exactly why you use the same dyno for comparitive testing, the actual figure gained is purely a reference point- no more than that.

I was curious to see if there were losses to do with the tyres compared to the hub mount version hence why i asked about the conditions!

Stock 1300 cc / L13
Trans - M20 Manual 4 speed 117mm 3.31 1st
Axle - G96 3.55 ratio
Not Dynoed, but on the rego papers in 1974 it said 46hp

After 30 odd years and only 15, 000 k's I reckon I still got 30hp plus under there to rocket me round
