QT would be the prefix for blocks of that period, found in monaros.
AFAIK the XU-1's..the engine's had stronger internals and a modded up head. Nothing fancy to do with the block.
Hope that helped

Last I heard, GTRXU1 wanted to do this as a 2006 version of the XU-2, or Series 2 XU-1 or whatever you want to call it.

What about when you're building a replica of a car that didn't really exist?

The prototype/s, LC & LJ GTR/XU-1s, designated production LJ GTR/XU-1 coupe.
Duplicate: identical to the original, Replicate: close or identical to original.
If you own genuine examples of LC, LJ GTRs and XU-1s, Brabham HB and considering a final project: XU-2/ XU-1 series II.
Interpretation (in conjunction with above justification/s): Duplicate=GTR Body, Replica=2 door S
Body: GTR, duplicate body
Driveline: 308 in fleshbored to capacity of/choice
Body interpretation: AMC Issue 9 pages 66-70, Leo Pruneau, no closer
Wheels: custom sprint masters 7.5 front/ 9 rear.
I believe that constitutes as close to an original duplicate (identical) to prototype than replica interpreted to todays standards.

Fair enough tracking down the original JP for your XU-1, but an LJ or LC with a V8 will never be anything more than a replica.
As for building it with a GTR, why bother when you could sell the GTR, buy an 'S' 2 door and come out with exactly the same result (except you'll have a 6 instead of a 9 on a plate), and have more money to spend on it...
