Thinking about installing some lights behind the grill.
1) What are a good set to go for? Pencil beam and broad beam?
2) Has anyone got any pix of lights installed behind grill to look at different mounting ideas?
3) May go for some thermo fans too while I'm at it... how can I tell if my Alt is up to the job, is there a set of numbers to go by (on the alt)? I'd say it's larger than orig by looking at the size of it.
Cheers and thanks.

Will post some pics of driving light brackets tonite.
In relation to alt specs, there are two numbers stamped on bosch alternators, ie 55A20. The larger number gives you output at about 3000rpm engine speed and the lower is an idle speed rating.
If you are going to run two au fans mainly at idle, youd wanna be looking at an alternator with at least a 40A lower rating, preferably 60.

If you do or plan on doing some travelling I would recommend getting one of each, the pencil for further along the the road, the broad for closer objects. Fitted a lot of spotties and most customers have been more than happy. If you do a few short trips here and there maybe go for a set broad beam spotties. IPF is a good brand, slightly on the expensive side but well worth the money.

I'd prolly make up a 25 SHS steel bracket. This one just used flat plates and a thousand washers on the bolt below the top radiator bolts.
As you can see, rocks are an issue.

I actually sold the lamps(hella pencil beams) and removed the brackets(they are for sale, put in place for sake of the photo), all worked well, just didnt need them.
