Well today I finally sent my application in to DPI, all 33 pages.

Fingers crossed.

If nothing else I have learned a LOT about my car from all the measurements taken, reading of ADR's NCOP etc.

one funny thing in the ADR's. If you are usig a tyre that is capable of over 300kM/h, you should abide by the manufacturers maximum load reccomendation above that speed. HA HA

WHOO HOO
Got my approval in principal back.
Mini Tubs and relocated coil overs are allowed.
they will only allow 235 tyres at the moment though - weird.

Someone asked me before about mods i did to the console bit to fit a B&M inside the standard console. Here are some pics.
its not finished yet, there are still a few things left to do in it but it gives an idea. I am planning to get the woodgrain done on top to match the dash and make it look standard.
This suits a B&M megashifter Note it is used with a TH700 4 speed

As the lowest part of a torana is usually the exhaust under the gearbox crossmember I decided to put the x-member inside the car. the new one is only 10mm high so shouldnt affect carpet too much and it is very strong. this should allow me to lift the exhaust about 30-50mm. they are not welded in yet, that will be done on the rotisary to ensure they are square underneath.

Nice thinking with the gearbox crossmember - man that will give you stacks of room to play with the exhaust system.

Very wise idea! Any problem getting it engineered do you think?

WHOO HOO
Tubs and coil overs turned up today - WOW the QA1's are light

Engineer turned up this afternoon - didnt really give any answers but wasnt too keen on the tubs although he did mention gutting the whole rear and welding in one of the rear clips. Thats a lot of work and more $$$

Just for others interest DPI have said a carb is ok but Rod says he hasnt been able to get a carb over the pits for over a year.

I think i am gonna have to do the chassis twist test.

No there is no problem with the G/Box mounts.

Yep I would post them up here, or maybe even PM an admin such as Tiny and get them to put it up as a Tech Article?

engineer saw the gearbox mounts today from the bottom and said "the floor is not going to be strong enough for that" then i showed him the other side and explained it all to him. he said "thats a very good idea, i like that"
they are now tacked in and i can definately say its not worth the effort if the car is not on a rotisary or hoist. a lot of work getting them to line up.

new chassis rails complete and shocks all mounted, tubs will not be welded in until engineer is happy with the rails just in case i need to modify something. I still need to cut the wheel well out and fab up part of the boot floor to cover the shocks, a bit tricky because the position of the shock bolts will be difficult to access from under the car.
great ride height adjustablity though!

Beautiful - booked into panel beater August, here are a few pics of the tubs and chassis complete, F**K the a$$ end is very solid compared to a standard torana + I took out about an extra 30Kg while on the rotisary!
I am pretty happy with the ride height of the rear but obviously it is now fully adjustable up or down, will look even better with the 18's. There is 365mm width in the rear guards now and have been told the widest in 18" is a 315 or 335 so they will look awesome
