What do people think one of these is worth with under 100,000km on it?
Would it be easyer to grab one on these instead of a 304 and then making into a 355 anyway?????
Harrop crank is a good thing, not sure on cr, but might change the pistons later anyway, roller cam sounds like a good thing, heads....not sure on specs but could be reco later anyway, manifold and sump to be replaced anyway.

eg. Buy this or build a 355???????????

He is asking $4,500

VN 304 are around $750-$1000. Wouldn't it work out about the same with a roller cam etc etc, as to pay the big bucks up front?

Damn you moot!!!!!!
If i could get a vt 304 for that i would prefer to build one up!
Good point dato i'll see how i go :spoton:
If they are only 220kw standard would you be able to get this up to a respectable figure 300ish with some more comp and a cam change and still keep it a daily?????

if you are gonna rebuild it buy a cheap motor. you are going to throw half the parts out anyway.

it really wouldnt bother me if i had a dirty old red motor to build, theres bugger all difference anyway. roller cam doesnt really suit a budget build (bigger gains can be made else where with that money) and the only real advantage to me iis the extra bolt hole for better head sealing on vn heads ( for forced induction) even then it bugger all difference.

but yeah, block and heads, everything else goes in the bin

Gee how prices come down.
I payed $6500 for a VT crate motor 4 years ago and had to spend more converting to carby, 2 cam changes, roller rockers and heads tickled twice.

Does that engine inclue the group A twin trottle body setup?
At that price compared to others the guys have listed I would expect it to have the twin trottle body. If twin trottle body is included than my opion it is a good buy. To find and buy a group A twin trottle body is around $2500 or above.

You need to spent money on good parts and machining to rev a stroker and make those numbers.

A mate has a similar setup in a HJ ute, but runs twin throttle bodies, 320HP at the rear wheels. I know Dave Whites VT Senator was HRT enhanced and they got 300KW out of it with a Star throttle body. I have the 220i engine in my Senator, it's a big change from the VR 5.0l I had

a walky or vn group a manifold is worth an easy 5k alone.

and if you used one on a properly built motor and didnt make 400rwhp i'd hang myself
