Thats really impressive fuel figures Paul. I haven't done a proper calculation but on the trip to Newcastle mine was around 10l/100km. Paul will you be coming to the car show at Kembla Grange on the 25th of the month? See the NSW section of the forum for more info.

Thinking about it. Maybe I'll go if I can park next to your car again and if you give me special cuddles like at Totana fest...

Well it' been just over a year since the car has been on the road with the RB25det engine. I think I've done almost 25-30,000 klms on this set-up.

The sad thing is that I've gotten so used to the power that I'm bored with. My only regret is that I didn't get a better exhaust the firts time around as it has been plagued with many little issues. I'm thinking about replacing the whole exhaust and get done proper this time.

It's hard as I will be in Sale Vic until may, so I'm not sure if I can trust the local guys.

The only mods I've dome lately is to fit a PWR alloy radaitor. Next thing is to sort out the shroud for the fan, get air con working and then a front mount cooler.

I've hit a few critters working down here including 1 roo, 2 birds and 5 rabbits. I nearly hit a koala that decided to bolt across the dirt road that gets me to work. I managed to stop him/her by blasting the horn ans swerve around him.

I love when people try and guess what's under the bonnet and the reaction when I eventually tell them.

Thanks for the comments on the readers car spread.

Barman...No..

I have my V8 racer so when I want to drive a V8 I just turn up the stereo. The kids love it.

I finally got the exhaust sorted and it no longer rattles, drones or makes other weird noises well at the rear end anyway. I started to hate driving car as it started to sound like a wet fart.

Nah, just running better since injectors cleaned, timing set properly (pain in arse to do actually), new plugs and boosted to around the 13 psi mark. Anymore than that the standard ecu goes nuts, not to mention that it's no good for the stock ceramic wheel in the turbo.

That would be the Nissan under the bonnet, no? :tease:

Are you just using a standard turbo tune in the ECU?

76lxhatch Cheeky bugger, nah it was a poorly designed and fitted exhaust muffler.

Yes standard turbo and ecu tune. I even run the standard inter cooler.

All good mate. Are you busy on saturday?

You should come for a cruise up to the drags for a look with myself and SS Hatchback.

Cheers

Smallish update.

I just replaced the two engine mounts as the engine decided to go for a walk and snapped my rear brake line with the inlet manifold.
Also the stupid noltec bushes have all but failed. A nut and washer even fell of from the top control arm along with the bush!

Managed to tap and new rubber bush with the help of a local mechanic, but the other 3 are still in their and stuffed.
So only after 50,000 klms or so klms I have had the 2 engine mounts fail, noltec bushes and wheels bearings.

I was assured that the noltec bushes were the bee knees as they are better than the nolathane bushes. Hopefully I will have my new shed up so I can actually pull the car off the road to remove the front end and re bush it all with natural rubber bushes.

As far as i know Noltec and Nolathane are the same company these days, Nolathane bought them out.
Cheers Ben
