hi all i have an LJ 2 door that has a worked 186 in it, i am looking at putting an injected 5L in it but i need to know if there is any 'RTA' rules that would prohibit me from doing so. If anyone can shed any light on this for me it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks. :D

I believe you still can, ring Steven Janda 7 Moon Point Rd Illawong 95411500 unless the rules have changed like a month ago.

will this guy mind if a random person is ringing him?

thanks heaps for your feedback, after i posted this qestion i found a fair bit of info on the RTA website wich gave me a formular to work out how big i could go. i worked it out to be as big as a 5.39L (329cu") for the weight of my car.

thanks again i will keep you all updated when i aquire more info.

Steve Janda is an engineer, of course he "won't" mind if a random person calls him. It's his job.

Tare weight of LC LJ on my rego sticker says 1070kgs.

I still believe you can get it engineered, as I don't believe any laws have been changed yet and it really is just hoo-haa - for the time being at least.

There has been another thread on this and I think there was something about a time period so "works in progress" could be finished.

Is this a recent thread? Or an oldish one?

hey guys i spoke to Steven Janda today about the conversion and he said it is all good, gave me a few things that i have to do like bigger brakes, stronger diff, box (already got supra 5spd) better springs and take plenty of photo's for his report. Most of wich i was already going to do. now i just have to hook into it, will post up some progress photo's as i progress. :spoton:

gotta sell the worked 186 now (looks over to the for sale section)

A chassis kit bolts from the firewall runs along the rails and bolt to the lower trailing arm at the diff and has a section across to join it together castlemaine rod shop sell them i would suggest you put one in it will make your car a lot stronger
