Definately worth the trip and early morning start. As a family we all had a great day...

Thank you so much to the organisers and the guys from the forum who make everyone feel welcome.

Top day!!! Very sunburnt (i look like a racoon with my sunglasses mark) but worth it, so many more cars than last year and the quality was second to none. Always good to meet fellow forum-ers and put names/faces to user names lol.
Shame me and keith didnt hang round longer but hey there is always next year!!

It was a great day, got some great ideas of things to do with my car.

I should be right to enter mine next year can't wait,

Didn't get to come around and see any forum members should have though but was too wrapped up in the cars.

Well done to the organisers.

Plus the choice of music was SPOT on, loved it,

Cheers :spoton:

:D Youngy_11,

Thank you for the Music comment, the CD's were burnt at 4.00am that morning and were the popular songs that correlated with the variuos release dates of the Torana.

Amazing what a Forum Member with an unimaginative user name can come up with.

Unfortunately I have n most of rthat music as originals along with my flares (jeans) that no longer fit!!

What a flipping awesome day. Heaps of Toranas, perfect weather, you couldn't ask for much more.

yes i managed to make it even through i didn't end up leaving till 11am saturday because i had to adjust the clutch and hook up a mechanial oil preasure gauge to ensure I did actually have oil preassure at idle when it was hot.

Thanks to Garry for putting me up for the nite, even tho it was after 11pm by the time i got there.

Oh yeah the speedo cable decided to die about 60ks out of Newcastle saturday night. Its been a long drive home without a speedo.

:D 73LJWhiteSL,

No problems Steve I think when you hit the pillow you were dead to world as I stayed up till 4.00 am getting the music done for the DJ.

All I heard from the back room was snoring so either it was you or Rissole I dont know which?

It was good to see that yopu pipped your mate for the longest distance travelled as well.

If any guys or gals need assitance with accommodation etc for future Toranfests I expect most Hunter Valley Members would happily put you up for the night.

We all know how long a trip it would be from Melbourne.

Got to say though it was a bit cold washing the car at around midnight!!!

I could see that you still remebered how to use a hose and sponge even if you haven't seen one for a while!!!

G'day All :D
Well I can finally sit down and read what you all thought about the show. Thank you all for the positive feedback. It's that type of feedback that make us what to get up and do it all again next year.

What a great day!!! We ended up with a huge 154 Entrants! Unfortunately, four of those entrants did not make it. I hope that all is well with the car Howard? For those that didn't get there, I will be sending your goodie bags out this week.

For all of those that did make it, a big thank you for the support. :spoton: It was pleasing to talk to alot of you as I was racing around in the "HDT club car" (thanks UFO XU1). The standard of cars amaze me each and every year and this year was exceptional, to say the least. They are a credit to you all.
I wonder when was the last time that a car show had every model Torana on display. A big thank you to Muzza for the lengths that he took to return his TA back to stock for the show. It was the only one there and it is a credit to you Murray!!

I think that the highlight of the whole Toranafest experience for me was the ability to spend a little "one on one" time with Harry Firth. :D The man is a legend and a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He is sharp as a tack and he has an undying passion for these cars of ours. If you all could have seen Tuffgong's face when his LC Ute got the "Seal of Approval" from Harry.. it was priceless... :spoton: I know that Harry had a great time (apparently UFOXU1 kept him up talking to 1.00am this morning!!! ) and he has already invited himself back for next year!!

People were asking "how are you going to top this year"? Well, all I will say is that we will be trying our hardest to make this event even better next year! I know that there are a few areas in which we can improve the show and I will be talking to the other Torana Clubs to get their input as well. As long you guys keep supporting us, and Toranafest, the better we will try and make it.. By all means, keep the comments coming, both good and bad.

Once again, thank you and we will see you in 2008!!!

cheers
Mick

No worries. While we're here, I have some negative feedback about the show... It's over 1500km away from me! Hopefully I'll be able to make it to Toranafest 2009 :spoton:

Hey all what a great day!!! & NO DUST!!!!
Everyones saying whats happening next year will be hard to beat that one but knowing that the effort of all the members especially Mick , Pete , Gazza , Tracey , Chris , Graham(lx5008,pro photographer) who took a staggering 1070 photos,it won't be hard to beat as they are ALL very passionate about it & just want to see it run well & professionally.
Next year is going to be better with the hope that we will have MORE Bathurst legends there,to share their personal moments with us torana heads.
once again TOTAL SUCCESS.
CONGRADULATIONS
HUNTER VALLEY TORANA CLUB.

I WILL POST SOME PERSONAL PICS OF THE GREAT HARRY SOON
TO SHARE WITH YOU ALL WAS AN ABSOLUTE HONOUR & PLEASURE TO HAVE HARRY & ANTHONY STAY WITH US FOR THE FOUR DAYS
A EXPERIENCE I WILL NEVER FORGET..

watch your words boys, they were daughters of a couple of the Hunter guys and they did a great job helping Harry I believe.
It was great to see Harry there but i get the feeling he gets a little overwhelmed these days. God bless him, lets just hope some of our younger heroes have the time for their public when they get to his age.

Exactly why I didn't say much about them. I remember talking to Harry one day and in a bunch of photos he had, I guy behind me spotted a picture of a girl dressed in a tight short skirt. The guy made a few comments and Harry says "thats my daughter"

What a day. Got home around 10.00pm last night car ran like a dream. Can honestly say that it was the best static car display I have been to. The HVTC should be extremely proud.
The quality of the cars on display was outstanding a credit to all owners.
I will definately be bringing the car again (Just have to save a bit longer for fuel money next time) because this event can only get bigger and better.
To also win a couple of awards for the car just put the icing on the cake of a great weekend.
Well done guys.

It was also great to put some faces to names and meet some really good forum members.

Chris

I dont do much posting on here lately, but i feel the need to chuck in my 2 bob.

Sunday was simply awesome.

There is definitely NO better place for a show such as this!!

You could run around all day long in bare feet, ample amounts of sunshine, fresh coastal air.

The music was dam good, as were majority of those who came looking at the cars.

Picked up runner up modified 4 door, behind a very deserving WILDLC. (it must be something about chriss and 4 doors)

Mate thats one hell of a purple people eater you have. made me want to start stripping mine down (again)

My old man had a cracker of a day, he has been there with me the last 3 years, the first year to look, the others with my car. So he was stoked to have his finally there, even if it wasnt quite finished.

Caught up with a bunch of people, was harrased by BLOWN308 until his partner let the cat out of the bag on who he was :D

he had me worried for a while. i felt rude cus i didnt know who he was!

I must say a VERY BIG thankyou to Mark (leakey) from the forums for his ourstanding effort in organising some perspex work for me (and getting it done in one day) so i could finish what i was doing in my boot.

It was a long few days before the show though, with my girlfriend in a big accident last weekend, i was organising for her to be on the coast to see a neurologist, so i raced to the airport on saturday arvo/night to get her and i had to pick up a water tank saturday morning, had relos birthdays, and repairs to the car that stopped me from washing and cleaning it for some time.

But now its all over for another year, and i cant wait!!! now the kicker is just deciding what i can do to keep my car fresh and different for every year. this year it was the boot, and custom linkage setup for the triples, next year, well, that will have to wait until next years show.

Cheers to all the people from The hunter valley torana club for their effort. You guys are a top bunch of people and very friendly.

ohh one more thing, if someone lost a wheelnut on the way to the dunnies, i pocketed it and gave it to the people at the entrants desk! not that they are that expensive. but thought id just let you all know.

I'll go back to my lurking now.

CHEERS CHRIS :spoton:

I had a quick word to the dad of one of the girls..and I'm pretty sure he was the uncle of the other girl....either way they both desreve a trophy....and I have already had to explain that I was actually taking a pic of the car..and they forced there way into the pic.

Whever took that pic must of been standing next to me. :spoton:
