I would've cut it a bit further forward than that... But that's just me.

Yeah i understood what you were saying Tim, but hopefully with the plans i have for the front end of the Torailer, the position it was cut in should be perfect.

completely off topic, is that an outlaws down under shirt you have on in the picture of you cutting?? i assume thats you anyway

Yes that is me orangeLJ, but no, it is a 2006 East Coast Nationals T-shirt.

Hey mitch.

Car looks good mate.

Just following up with the question about the heater box in the torana. Are you running the original heater box?

If so how did you plumb it in with the V6 as the torana one has an inlet and return?

Did you need to have a carbon canister installed for engineering and rego???

Thanks mate

If i can remember correctly, the side of the seat closest to the door, can be bolted into the original seat holes, though we made some custom brackets to install the side closer to the console. I will try and get some pictures for you when i can.

Cheers for the comments guys, I'm very happy with them.
Car is still going fine... Don't have time to worry about it. Torailer takes up too much time.
How is your coming along young? Any updates soon?

With the V6 in a light weight Torana. What kind of Fuel Economy are you getting?

Getting around 400kms to a standard tank. Though with a fuel gauge which doesnt work very well, i fill it up when the gauge says it is half empty, and it takes about 45 litres. So i should be getting an extra 10 or so litres on top of what i am already getting.

WOW long time no update. Alright well not much has changed since it was last updated.
But, I have been through one diff already, I know have Yellas super duper ex yella performance 3.36 fine spline diff in. Which Pat assures me is the best as it was once Yella!
I have been through a set of rear tyres, but the rubber on the old ones was hard and I was constantly wheelspinning and sideways, so they needed to be changed.

I have been to the drags twice in the car this year, and will be heading out for a 3rd time on the 18th.
So far it has run a best of 15.4 at 86.9 mph, which I was very happy with, though I'm hoping to get a bit faster the next time out.

Ill chuck up some photos from the drags, and as you will be able to see, I will soon need a new set of tyres on the back, as these ones like to go up in smoke, as the sydney members will tell you from the last drag night!

The scoop went on when the Torailer was painted, mainly to match the colour, but the scoop stayed.
Chris I doubt I will be getting flares any time soon. If I do decide on flares, I will have the A9X kit, minus the rear spoiler, as I am not a fan of that. But i doubt that will happen. I have 235/60/r14's on the back now, so I will stick with them until I upgrade the diff.

Alright, well a bit of drama. On Thursday the 5th, I was driving in a school zone down Hoxton Park rd following a Corolla. I was watching in front of him, and about 30 metres ahead of him, the lights turned red, so I got ready to brake. All of a sudden, the guy in the Corolla jumps on his brake, causing me to jump on mine, and mine locked up and I went up the back of him.

The damage to his looked very minimal, though the quote tallied up to $1200 in damages to the Corolla.
I decided to just pay for his quote, as my excess through insurance would have been around $2000, and I could not afford that.
The damage to my car is below:

Posted Image

I am very grateful that it was not much worse. And travelling in a school zone meant I was only doing 40km/h before I braked. No-one was hurt and that is the main thing.

My car is now repaired as I have spent the last week repairing the apron. I will put up a photo of the repair as soon as I can.

If he bloody slammed on his brakes you should of argued it and took it to court. Dangerous braking caused the accident and because you were 30m behind and travelling at the correct speed, it should be in your favour?

I was about 2 car lengths behind the Corolla, but the lights ahead were 30 metres in front of him (if that makes sense). They were an old couple who couldnt really speak english.
I can't exactly prove it was his fault otherwise I would. And because I think I didnt go off at him, was the reason he agreed to not go through insurance, and was understanding of my financial situation.
Ah well, it is over with now, and it was nothing more than some minor damage which I am grateful of!

Alright, well the car is now repaired, though my neighbour backed in to my door, but they are paying so I am happy about that!

Markbeath requested some photos of my engine as he is doing the same conversion. So here they are! Enjoy!

Josh (gen3torrie) requested a photo of my Regan head unit a while ago. Finally got a picture, as well as my gauges and a photo of the commodore seats from outside the car. Enjoy these too!
