Yeah they are the pods. Were pretty straight forward, just with the door trims I drilled the extra holes and installed them the same way they are done on the commodores. They are a real good fit and no mods were needed, plus they hide the ugly speaker that sits in the door. No problems with leg room either.

Go nuts Lee, they are a good way of hiding an ugly speaker and dont look out of place. Plus its a good place to throw cds, street directories etc.

I posted all this about the pods on the first page. Trying to rummage through and find it all.
I even used the actual pod to hold the speaker:

Hmm been a while and a few things have changed.

I took advantage of the dollar and made an order to Summit and got a matching set of VDO Gauges as well as a billet surround.

Posted Image

Didnt end up using the surround though as my existing Speedo is actually a 4" whereas the hole in the billet surround is 3 3/8. Also it may be a bit too big for where I want to put it in the car. It may go in at a later date but for now I just decided to run a different layout.
Photo doesnt really show it, ill get a different pic asap, but it gives an idea. Runs the Speedo in the middle inline with the steering wheel, and each gauge to the left of it.

Posted Image

After that we had the drag day. I thought it would be a good idea to try and get some good burnout pics by running a welded diff. Big mistake. 2nd run I snapped the axle off the line which also twisted the other.

Posted Image

I then spent the next couple of hours sourcing some parts and the car looked like this:

Posted Image

Big thanks to LH SLR 3300 and Mrs LH SLR 3300 (Matt and Belinda) for taking time out of their day and getting me back out on the track by providing an entire diff housing for me to pull parts off. Can not thank those guys enough for helping me get the car back together.

So I still got my moneys worth and got some great pics of me running and also with my old man.
