I put the add up on gumtree on 31/1/2012 and within an hour I had a phonecall and a young bloke with his dad came out and checked out the car. I had it advertised for $13,990, not expecting to get that much, but just as a start.
They were here for around an hour and a half going over the entire car, asking questions about the build etc and made an offer of $11,000 which I took.
The next day, the car was gone. I've never seen it being driven before so that was a shock but all of a sudden my project of the last 4.5 years was finished and to my suprise I was happy. With everything going on personally and being in two minds as to whether to keep it or sell it, I was happy to see it go to a great new owner who plans on turning it into a wedding car so I know it will be looked after, and I can move on to something else knowing that I had completed my 'P-plate project' and can get my hands on a V8.
So for the first time in my life, I went car shopping. In my budget were VT/VX/VY commodores with LS1s. I saw them as a good idea to get into as I still have a few years of uni, and doing it by correspondence, I need a reliable car to get me to Coffs Harbour twice every trimester.
I found myself a neat VX SS with all the options. Leather interior, sunroof, power windows/mirrors, 160,000kms, stock driveline, brand new 18inch wheels with new tyres, immaculate body and paint and a neat stereo install.
So this is my new car for the next few years. Please dont condemn me from the forums as I have made many friends on here and its still a great resource for information no matter what the vehicle.
