Somehow though, I think the owner is fond of the original colour, so I better not mix it this time round

Perhaps just the pics, but the black looks too low on those front gaurds?

Too low as in too far down the guards? I'm hoping it's just the photos, I measured everything and there were lines still let in the paint to go by as I didn't remove the paint from the car completely.
This comparison might see it better

Yes as far as down the gaurds. More so closer to the screen. Just an observation from the pics. Sounds like you measured everything.

Where the edge of the screen seal is, thats where the black starts and then extends to the guards and nose cone. Looking at the pics, it does look deceptive for sure. Once I get some more paint on and remove the tape it should look better, I certainly hope it does anyway...

Red, just a quick pointer, be careful masking with newspaper as I have had the ink bleed through onto the paint and trust me it can be a job cleaning it up. I do notice that you have masking paper under the newspaper in spots so I'm thinking you may already be aware. Other than that great job.

A few more pics today, starting to look like an A9X again now. Should start assembling it shortly. The black is a horses arse to do grrr. The colour and gloss is perfect but there are some little things I'm not happy with

its a very nice rare car.i remember when ian butler owned it 20 years ago and in the vid you can see just how rough the black was put onto the a9xs.check out the r/h corner at the windcsreen.

In that last picture you can clearly see the way the flare is cut and the wrong bolts holding it to the spoiler, that will be fixed before it goes back on the road. The paint is the same as it was before, I left tell tales of the old lines to follow

That's the thing about a Tuxedo car.

There are no "black outs" to distinguish it as an A9X.

Just looks like another want to be half done street machine, unless you put the GTS cheese cutter rims back.

And we all know how cheesy that looks. :)

Message to RED, Message to RED, do you recieve?

I think it would be a good time to add some progress photos, what do you think? I reckon the viewers would be fascinated.

Nothing like owning a brand new 34 year old car!
