I WAS ROUND A MATES PLACE THIS ARVO AND A GUY DROPPED AROUND WITH A LOAD OF FIRE WOOD STARTED TALKING CARS SAID HE HAS JUST BOUGHT A TORRIE HAD THE TAGS IN HIS TRUCK WHAT UP WITH ENG LD1 ?? M40 GU7 IT IS A253 AUTO BIT OF A BUNKY I THINK HE PAID $2300 FOR IT I TOLD HIM ABOUT THE SITE TO FINDOUT BUT HE IS NOT ONLINE WHATY IS LD1

LD1 is the engine code for 173 six cylinder.

Pretty common combo in LH in the scheme of things. Where it is rare is HQ and HJ. Out of the 1000's of cars I have recorded I reckon I'd only have a few 173 auto Belmonts (or Holdens in HJ commercials). I actually found a HQ Belmont ute a few weeks ago that was originally 173 auto. Most were manuals or if auto were optioned with a 202, or is a HJ optioned with a 4.2.
