G'day all, I have an LX hatch that is on gas with a cutout in the rear floor for the tank. Can anyone recommend somewhere in Melbourne to get a tough looking dummy alloy drop tank made up to cover it?
Thanks in advance.
Mick.

Says that hes after a "dummy" one.
I presume butchering a real tank would not be the most cost effective method...

draw up some plans with widths and lenght's and take them to a sheet metal place and they will be able to do it easy i reckon.

Hi, WantOneNow,

I've stolen some photo's from Knoaths ex Hatch.
He cut the floor and put a steel well in it.
Looked just like a drop tank, you should pm him for more details.
I'm sure he did a post about it.

Thanks for the replies guys, my floor has been cut out and it does have a tank holder bolted in, its just that its rounded not square. I also do love the look of shiny alloy!

yeah it was a place in brisbane i think, the tanks bolted up to the chassis, and was a highly polished finish.... they were about $400 i think

Do the stickies really work?

Here's one I prepared earlier. It will give you the sizes, etc of a real drop tank, you can take it from there.

Give Milton Performance in Brisbane a ring or visit there web site www.miltonperformance.com.au . Andrew had some dummy tanks made before his passing.
