Have had a look at past threads and cant seem to find what i'm after
The chrome window strips -- were they standard or an option ?
I like the look and have a car without
From what i have read on it in here they have mounting pins that are simply ground off to get rid of the strips.
Is there much of a drama refitting these or has anyone done it?.
Cheers D

What model car are we referring to???

LH LX SL SLR ???

The moulding strip can be refixed, and can be purchased from EBAY---------

The pins can be riveted on, which the plastic moulding retainer piece can slide onto & the mounlding can then clip over as per the factory detail.

The pins can be riveted on.

The pins can be spot welded back on, but most people just rivet the plastic clips on.

Being an LX it will be around the outer edges of the blackouts. LH is around the windows (inside edge), the bottom one screwed in with the door belt attached. UC, NFI.

Rare Spares sell the proper rivets that have the post on them.
The plastic clips lock onto the post...

Rob, yep LH SL/R's (all models), LX SL and SS models only, LX SL/R's I don't believe have any, certainly not the LX SL/R 5000.

Sorry, I don't have any pics. I've never understood what UC's have or don't have, but keen to know if anybody wants to add.

^ Yella is sitting beside it, you can see the silver trims around the actual window opening.

Oops, orange LX is missing two bits of trim. The small bar on the pillar between the doors, and the dog leg in front of the mirror.

HI
I was looking at a few 4 door UC toranas fitted with mouldings and i dont think they have the square bit that goes in the top of the b pillar. When i finaly paint mine all the mouldings off the doors will be removed and the chome that goes around the roof gutter will replace it.
