Hey guys and girls.

I've always wanted a cage for my torana, even before I got it and I finally got around to getting one. It's only a simple 4 point cage to start with however there are plans to make it definately into a 6 point and maybe an 8 point.

Cage is only dummy fitted at the moment as im going to wait for my set of harnesses before deciding on its final location. Heaps of work to go but uni holidays are fast approaching so I should have some more time to tinker with it.

It's been ages since I posted up on the forums, but im always watching... and im loving alot of the work you guys and girls are doing... keep it up!!!

Hope you like the pics, let me know what you think.

Looking the goods. I'd hate to sit in the back though over bumps, you know how much head room there's in the rear of the hatch.

Yeah, i've decided to make it a two seater anyways... Need somewhere to put my slicks, front runners and tools etc etc, when I start driving it to the drags :D

You will need to move the main loop further back to near/behind the centre pillar dean.

Ok, cool I will, somehow... Can I ask why rorym? Just so I know for future reference.

The seats are actually sitting back on more of an angle than they would beif someone was sitting in them. I was mucking around with some under dash wiring and had them learning right back.

I don't know how much further I will be able to move them back. Maybe 3-4 cms at the most ... is this bad???

Planning on getting some padding for the cage once it's all bolted in and setup with the harnesses...

Try on your helmet when you sit in the car. That way you know for sure that you have enough head room.

Good spotting there rorym!

Alloy cages dont offer much in the way of roll over protection.

rorym, Wasnt the pic you posted of a four door - meaning that the B pillar sits further forward than a hatch

Rorym's pic looks like a hatch to me.

An alloy cage wasn't what I really wanted but yeah, im a poor uni student on a budget.

Helmet on in car - check!

Yeah for sure Keith... I'll have to come and check out how the chev is going...

With the seats in their final position...Mines a 4 door but thats irrelevant Evil..its all about final seating position. It might be right...if the seats are about 100mm further forward.

Thats the same cage I have had in mine for 18 years (Bond cage), have never had any issues with touching it with my head.

Nobody has the front two legs of an alloy cage for sale eh?

Would be keen to make it into a 6 point now if I could...

Cal,
Just checked out some hatches....Just try to get it as far back as you can...it appears the place seems to be inline with the front/centre of the pillar on the hatch.
Bond Rool bars will make you front ones...NOS tells me Autobarn are selling chromoly ones for Bond now.

Front half of a cage anyone? Can anyone make me one out of alloy fairly cheap? I rang bonds cages and they want $400 and that isn't delivered. I'm looking at spending 100-200? Anyone help?

Dean
