though i mite share tonights event because i dont really think this drama that i had is all that common, oh well it mite be...we can find out lol.
Drivin home beside my collegue in his FTO....naturally i pull up beside him at the red light....mivec yada yada red 6 bla bla....anyway we go for it...cos i have a slu.....*loose* shifter ....as ive tried to shift from 2nd to 3rd (at which stage i was side by side ) damn thing wouldnt get into 3rd but thats not the problem....after i got it in...when i put my foot down again i noticed it was rocking and seemed to be only running on 5cyl....this has never happened before...backed off..it was running like this for another 10-15 seconds before the problem ceased. Was very interesting..
I have no idea what it could have been, i have squirted it before n hadnt had this problem...could it be lack of/too much fuel (400CFM Gas Research)? I wouldnt have thought so cos the problem was still there for a short period after me accelerating ...im baffled lol... any ideas???!
People seem to enjoy threads more when there is a pic involved....so here is some motivation...been runnin in UC for almost a month almost and no problems
Cheers,
Brad.

Sounds like a lifter pumped up and held a valve open.

I mean nothing towards what you have done, but am just pointing out that there are different brands lifters for different applications. They were taken out an inspected prior to 202 going in. Seemed to be in exellent condition...one was tapping...took it out and cleaned it out at time of installing engine...put it all back n its been fine since. I dont think there aftermarket..just a VGC stock part
Standard lifters if reved hard can pump themselves up and will hold valves open until time passes and they bleed down again.
Anti pump up lifters have extra internal clearances and bleed down quicker without holding the valves open.
Anti pump ups generally aren't used in standard engine rebuilds as they can be a little clacky and are an explanation nightmare for the engine builder when a motor comes back noisy.
I had the same issue the first day out in the Commy racer. After 2 and 1/2 laps it was running like a chaff cutter. I ended up changing the cam, lifters, valve springs, caps and collets.
