Just so anyone who is thinking of buying this ignition knows it will only work with a points or msd distributor. Rocket tell me today that the electronic holden dizzys signal will not trigger the msd. Added some more to the bill thats for sure.

That sounds like crap to me, i have a digital 6 and use a procomp 9000 race dizzy, its the one thaat only has a magnetic pickup inside - works fine, msd digital 6 will work with points, magnetic pickup, and should work with gm modules - i cant see why it wouldnt - its says in the instructions that it can work with modules inside dizzys.

Has anyone here used one of these ignitions with a holden dizzy? It would be best to hear it come from someone that has tried.

Cheers.

Well it started as soon as we dropped the msd dizzy in so i guess that it wont work with the hei dizzy. It may work with other aftermarket dizzys, im not sure maybe i misworded the have to use a msd dizzy bit. MRLC i think the unit you have is similar to a 6AL and i know that runs with a hei dizzy. Apparently it is something to do with the signal put out by the hei dizzy is not recognised by the digital 6. This is only what i was told by the tech guys at rocket industries. If anyone has got it to work i would love to hear how and thats not being smart im genuinely interested

HMMM looking at the msd diagram it should work by bypassing the module but im not to sure. Rocket said it still wouldnt work that way. But anyway it runs now and ive already bought the dizzy. Anyone know the type of signal put out by the Holden dizzy as in is it a square wave signal? I dont know its a little over my head at the moment. 6AL or 6A works with the hei dizzy but digital seems to be different

Guys...
If you bypass the module as LC BOI has done... what happens is the dizzy becomes basically a magnetic trigger, similar to a crank trigger.
Now open up the instruction and installation manual that came with the 6AL or Digi6 or pro comp or Mallory Hyfire or CD or MSD digi 7 or 7AL (they are all the same hook-up) to the page that deals with crank triggered pick ups (flying magnet or non magnetic type)
Wire up your control box according to the instructions for a magnetic pick-up should be a 2 wire hook up.
Repeat... do not use your factory module......

Cheers Greg..
