not a fan of filters that arent secured from rotating off?????????? ive been workign on cars full time for 3 yrs now and ive never seen or even heard of a filter doing that

No, you may not have,
It's one of those weird things that occasionaly happens under race conditions.

RE: scruteneering....

The 173 i had last year was discusting, and heavily coated in grease and general oil and crap. Leaked a fair bit too..the just said wipe it with a rag n she'll be rite so as long as u have overflow and nothing that will fly around in the car and impale you lol then you should be ok.

Ohh yeah I think things like having good seatbelts, soundly secured seats (that don't rock either latitinally, longtitudinally or diagonally), no glove boxes that don't stay closed etc.

Skin tight long sleeves isn't a bad idea. I used to wear 'skins' underneath my footy gear, you'd cool down with any sort of breeze.

Just a reminder to anyone trying to save a few extra bucks on Petrol.

Maybe when you get home tonight head up to the servo in your Torana's while the petrol price is on its low cycle for the week (Its about 135c today). As Wednesday afternoon the price will no doubt jump 15cents a litre!

I'm gonna filly up my Jerry cans to save a few bucks...

Just unscrew the hose at the tank. Just remember the 3/4" open end spanner.

Only 3 more sleeps to go. Can't wait. What time are we getting there. Can someone please advise. Also, I have a mate - Nick - coming along. He has an LJ with a 383 Stroker that's been tubbed. Done a sub-11 at Calder. One quick, loud, horny car. Look out for him.

As long as your coolant sytems dont dump onto the ground ( Put the overflow hose into a coke bottle), You've got enclosed footwear and long sleeves, and there are no large oil leaks/drips ( No visible drops on the ground after driving/sitting in staging lanes) then you will be good to go!

Definitely no need for any licence other than driver's licence, No need for extinguishers or secondary bonnet catches.

If your car falls into an ANDRA category (SS/AA and the likes) then all safety for those categories should be adhered to!

The only other thing to bring is CASH - I dont belive there is any Eftpos systems there!!

Overall guys, Heathcote is extremely friendly, a great group of people and an excellent day.

Say Gday to jo and the guys from heathcote, sorry i cant be there and ENJOY YOURSELVES!! :)

Wait I was told that I could race last year when I was 16. I still am not 18, that is okay right?

Do we need gloves?

I belive that you 'll need a letter from a parent/guardian saying your allowed to race and that's it!

Too easy mate, I do remeber that they said it would be ok so id say it still would be!

No need for gloves!

Just long sleeve ( cotton preferably.. steer clear of nylon) jumper and pants.

Basically.. dont rock up in pluggers and stubbies and you'll be right! :P

Cheers!
