mig welder gas hose clamp?

hey guys

finally have time on my hands so i went off to get a gas bottle today for the mig. but i dont know what to do with this crimp thingy? looks like it should be done using a proper tool or something? any suggestions? sorry bout the size of the photo...

pull hose off, slide crimp to end of hose, push hose on. Looks like a self adjusting hose clamp. not super strong but just enough to hold mig pressure.

only problem with that idea is the clamp slides up and down even with the hose on...

you need to pinch the sides together with a pair of side cutters(as in hold the cutters in line with the hose and pinch the sides of the flat sections towards each other)....hope you can figure out what i mean

Or just toss it and put on a worm drive type clamp
