well turns out the knock sensor was the problem! thats sorted now :spoton:

but....... lol

thermo fans are still coming on way to early! and when they do come on the engine warning light comes on and also there is a huge drain in power... when i have my lights on barely anything else works... when i put the indicators on they are very very slow... :<_<: so im thinking i might have alternator problems cos when the cars going there should be no problem but still low..

car runs sooo good! took her for a drive last night and its great! plenty of power thats for sure!

also got my interior all together now! just need some carpet and the seats redone anyhow heres how it looks:

hey guys well today used luvtheUC's way of seeing whats wrong it spat out code 15 and that led to a faulty wiring job on the water temp sender... we wixed that and what do u know! my car works 100% haha
checked the engine light again code 12 which means all is ok! me and dad are over the moon! its finally finished! :D

i'd like the thank all the people who have put me in the right direction during this conversion! its amazing how much information u can get from these forums.

Thanks Guys! :spoton:

Mate congrats on fixing all the car's issues. Looks bloody awesome. How's the fuel consumption, have you had a chance to have a good whip around and see how much the v8 injection uses? I would guess probably more efficient than a 202 lol :P

a little update! been driving the car around heaps its so so much fun to drive! had an extractor gasket leak so had to take them off and found that i had them on the wrong way around so it was only allowing like 2/3's of the air through lol anyhow its now fixed and the car sounds sweet. still sort of got a problem with a very noisy throttle body if i put my finger over one of the little inlet holes on the inside of the throttle body the noise goes away.. and every now and again (mainly when the noise is present) the engine warning light comes on got error code 23 which is something to do with the MAT sensor probably a dodge connection will look into it..

Ever since i put the 8 in my cars been wildly low (scraping on the front sway bar every bump) so thought it was time to get new springs rated for the v8 and while were at it replace all the bushes and ballpoints etc..
a few of the goodies..
Posted Image

the worst part of all this is the 30 years of grease and dirt build up which i want to clean up lol

another thing ive done is purchased a K&N pod filter and installed that the quality is so much better than the other one..
Posted Image
so now the engine bay is pretty much finnished just wanna get some CHASSIS RAIL PLUGS if anyone can help me out there then im done and dusted for a while :D

Go to a metal fabrication place, Get some discs spun up on the lathe from alloy,
I had a set done for my hatch, from a mate i used to work with,
Or you could do the bad attempt and put 4 Holden badges in :tease:

the billet spun look is better.

Engine bay looks tops too by the way :spoton:

Ben

Mat sensor is Mannafold air temp sensor I think, Could just be caused by your pod sucking hot air from your extractors if the wiring and sensor check out ok.

i saw a set on ebay the other week from Murray bridge wish i bought them now.. i think it will just finish it off and cover up the ugly bolts..

thanks for the kind comments guys makes it all worth it :spoton:

Luv the UC im pretty sure thats what it is but havent had time to look at it yet... i can see the heat issue being a problem esspecially in the summer am looking at either moving the battery to the boot or pluming up some other setup see how i go..

Update all the front end is finally ridden of the mounds of grease and grit and all painted and ready to be put back in with the new bushes.. Dad bought a new bench press today to make things alot easier

Cheers Guys

my LJ scrapes like crazy. Sway bar at the front protects anything else from touching.

Have had my exhaust (the hotdog resonator in the middle) touch once and once only. you just get used to it!

thanks for the replies guys its funny you say that i have been interested in getting some new wheels for some time the main reason ive been waiting is because im in need of a diff and have one lined up atm however its not torana stud pattern so it would be pointless buying a set right now.. however if posible im thinking about putting it to torana stud pattern or HQ and run some drag style wheels or stay with what it is and go 17's :<_<: im leaning towards 17's atm but i dont want the proplems they may bring (rubbing and stuff like that) what do u guys think?
