I saw some 3.55 9 inch gears in Rarespares the other day for around $300. This was in sydney though.

i think ben got in first but shipping it to adelaide was the hard part.

if you are still keen matt you should really check it out in the car before i pull it out.

not that there is anything wrong with it, but i would prefer someone to test it and be happy with it before they buy it.

Ahhh My bad! Whoops!

Are you taking it out over the easter weekend? I might be able to pop down for a chinwag and perve at the car before then!

Hi UNVSM8.
I must say, I've never been a fan of the UC's, but mate you've done an excellent job. The attention to detail is amazing! I hope you are proud of your work, you deserve to be.

I have read the whole thread, took me atleast 40min but it was worth it. Best thing I've read all year!

I would also like to thank you and everyone else for posting such relevant information here. Great work everyone!

Thanks mate.

Regards,

Carmelo

No probs Ben!
I'm hoping to rebuild my LX soon (definitely suspension, maybe go back to bare metal, chance to a 9" if the banjo karks it) and your progress reports were excellent help. Thanks for posting all the 'little things' you found during your build. :spoton:
Maybe I should get back to Chemistry......I'm still at school at the moment....hehe
Cheers mate.

Carmelo

i like there being no center console! altho every now and then you need a spot for something it makes the car more roomy in side well i think so anyway!

other plans other than diff:

retrim seats door cards etc tan leather or imitation leather
new number plates
lower it in the rear
hoppers stoppers 330 kit
bumpers rechrome and other bits and pieces chromed
the little bubbles of rust in the bottom of the doors fixed
cam... more power..

the list could go on for ever but they are things i'll probably get onto in the next year or so...

Ben, you've done a great job on your machine. Sweeeeet as.

I posted on another UC thread that I'd like a UC hatch, but had not seen anything in the UC world
that would set the bar and give me a direction to work towards. But your beasty is the beez knees.

Well done.

When I do eventually get it all together, expect some pestering emails from me mate!

Cheers, Leakey

commodore springs in only dropped it about 1cm but hoping they will settle down a little bit more

heres a few pics of what i had to do to the springs if anyone wants to know...

Posted Image

Posted Image

and difference between them and the 2inch lowered kings
Posted Image

and while i was there my dump pipes :D
Posted Image

and i bought some night shade tint and had a play around with a spare light...
Posted Image

ignoring all the scratches (reason its not on the car) they actual look really good IMO..
it was only one light coat to the inside then one coat around the sides but not on the face..
might spray some on the centre reflector to tone that down a bit...
but they still allow plently of light to travel through so when i get time i'll take the ones off the car and do them.. what do u guys think??
