Starting to look good...nifty trick I read on streetcommodores site was that you can turn the injectors around & hide the wiring under the covers.

well i started out by sanding out the scratches with rough sand paper then went up to 1500 grit then buffed them up with my buff on the drill :)

the reason i did it myself was cos i got quoted 600 for someone to do it for me so i was like F#)%($@ that!! haha im pretty happy with the results

cheers

Very nice result, I'd be stoked with that too! What did you use to mask it up to precisely?

well what i did was mask the majority of the area off then spray paint then wipe off the paint where i didn't want it while it was still wet :) now i just got to do the rocker covers and the front piece and i'm done!

Cheers for the comments Guys

Thanks mate, that is a good idea that didn't even cross my mind. I thought you might have just polished the flat faces again after it was dry :P

Silly me, look forward to the step-by-step shots.

Hey man, i've been away for a while - to come back and find another UC!! Well done! Love the colour, my blue one was originally atlantis blue as well and in just as good condition, the brown one is faded brown!!

Your UC should be a sweet cruiser with the injected motor in!

hey guys haven't been on for a while cos my internet has been stuffed thanks to optus but heres what I've been doing while i have been off line
the engine covers are comming along nicely heres what ive done:
Posted Image
wet and dry sanded them up to 1500 grit starting with 400 i think
Posted Image
polished them up with the air drill and polish wheel
Posted Image
and this is pretty much where im up to atm!

oh one other thing some of you are saying you like the atlantis blue but its actually not exactly that when i got my roof resprayed they mixed up atlantis blue and its actually alot lighter than the colour my car wears so yeah not atlantis blue :)

thanks for the comments guys

cheers

And a small update on the engine
ive pretty much done everything i want to do to the engine and the gear box and wiring loom should be arriving either tomorrow or next week and then just got to get a few more little bits then it will be going in :)

one small thing that im unsure about is will the engine fit in with the air conditioner unit in place or will that have to come out... if anyone can give some advice that would be appreciated.

more updates coming soon!

Cheers
Ben
