damn it looks tough with those simmons, but those line decals make it look like a toyota sprinter or something that has stickers on it as an 'option' from factory to make people think that their car is faster than the stock ones, lol eg mitsubishi lancer ' sport' haha. Keep away from them plllleeassee..

I want my car to look like yours one day, and dream of looking like what you want yours to look like ahha.

Hi Ben

Im realy happy with mine nows its up and going, fuel consumption i have not taken a huge amount of notice to yet as the right foot has given it a workout but it seems ok. Im realy happy with the performance over the old 253. If your running twin pipes dont forget cats as that was one thing mine had to run and before i fitted a crossover pipe the poor old girl crackled like a b and s ute.

Well guys its finally happening :)
out came the six!
Posted Image
and the body work began
Posted Image
thought i'd take off this panel and was happy to see no rust what so ever :)
Posted Image
after a lot of sanding and high fill primer its all ready for some colour!
Posted Image

took the aircon completely out and its amazing how much room there is without it! and once again found no rust hiding under there.
sometime this week i'll start putting some colour on!

Dad's been working on the fuel system and we got a fuel line off a wrecker torana and are using it for the return line all will be mounted underneath next to the tank! we were originally going to mount it all inside but have been told this is not 100% legal?? besides i'd have to take out my sub and amp

Looking great. What colour are you doing the engine bay?

Did i tell you that my car was the same colour as your when i first bought it? Anyway, with the return line i did the same thing and i found that i had a spare nipple on the sender unit. I think it was for the pollution gear.

I had another sender unit and it didn't have that extra nipple on it, must be pre pollution.

The engine bay is going to be the same colour as the rest of the car! looks alot better that way! well i think anyway :)

yeah haven't had a close look at that but im sure if mine doesnt have it i'll soon sort something out.

studricho what did u do with ur dash? have you recovered it? painted it? or what cos im stuck what to do with mine as it has a fat crack down the middle..

I still haven't touch my dash. I remember i found a non cracked dash at the wreckers and i used Armour all to stop it from cracking. It took 10 years, but it did.

I found one mob that $440 to restore the dash, dude i could be a whole UC for that.

Yeah wreckers can be a rip off, but some are top blokes. I went to a pick and pay less and all i needed was the hose from under the dash to the under the guard to drain water. I melted mine by accident during some rust repairs.

I also grabbed some nuts for the rack and pinion shaft and some else small. My mate was saying, just stick it your pocket, don't tell them.

I went to the front counter and showed him expecting $5-$15 and he said i can have it for free.

On the air con note. I also have factory air con on my car. I still have the original bracket for the red 6, compressor and some other bits and pieces.

I should sell them as i will be using the RB25 compressor with the uc air con.

yeah must say i have had some good deals from some however cos im only 18 i think they sometimes take that for granted! thinking i dont know a thing about how much it would be worth  lol

is your air con like my one or is it a underdash unit thats placed under the passenger side?? cos if i ever want to get aircon thats what i might go for instead..

Mine sits under the passenger side of the dash. I have a normal heater fan shroud in the engine bay, not one that it looks like it's a tumor growing from it.

Hi Ben
Make sure when you fit the moter you have the dissy and cap on or you wont get them in after without taking the heater out. Also you will have to have the heater box in as well. Looking good you will have to show some more pics of your surge tank (when fitted) as i have not fitted one yet.

well guys yesterday was a very good day! last week dad went in and swapped the engine numbers over and the lady said we would either get a letter from regency saying we need to take it in or a new rego sticker... WELL IM EXCITED TO SAY I GOT THE STICKER TODAY! :):) means no regency! woo!

its moving along nicely now! we removed the petrol tank found no rust under there! :) there was a big blob of solder about a bit bigger than a 50c coin! in the tank which explains the noise coming from the tank when the sub is going! so got that out!

bought some new globs for my lights the are 100 55 blue light so should be alot better than the original ones

also have done all the rewiring of the horn and alarm so that its now all hidden in behind the grill area and so its not cluttering the engine bay.

had begun painting under the car with body detener and got some in my hair so stopped doing that lol will leave it to dad! had to cut half me hair out sticky stuff!

engine should be in this weekend and exhaust fitted next week finger crossed :)

With the loom, when we did Wraith's, we just looped it onto itself on the L/H inner guard.
Where have you mounted your relays?
