yeah maybe will have to get the sides repainted when i remove the granny strips so will see thanks ChevLX 77

Ben, the granny strips is what makes a UC a UC. Lol... leave em! Plus you'll just have the hassle of repainting them which is more work then getting the strips off themselves.

Looks SICK. I bet it sounds almost as good, love the dumpipes, fits with the more modern look.

have you got that list yet? and I'm still keen on your hearbox, just need some funds. car crashes are expensive....

Nice clean lookin system, If you dont mind telling us, How much did it cost for the lot?

When you said its legal, doesnt transport state that the pipes need to be behind the furthest rear opening window, ive been in disputes with people about this because some say that the hatch is the last opening and some say the side windows, Did you find this out at all?

anyhow looks the goods, bet it sounds the goods too, top work :spoton:

tyre fryer i sort got a list i'll pm it to you later...

all up it was $1200
thats 2 highflow cats
2 redback mufflers
2 oxygen sensor inputs
engine pipes and tail pipes

the quality is out standing!

when i say its legal i mean because it has the cats its a legal system plus the guy recons it wont be overly loud so will have to see as i havent started it up yet as we havent finnished the fuel system :(

yer rear opening is something you could dispute for ever i believe its the window openings as u dont normally drive with the hatch up lol i duno doubt the guy would have done it if he knew it was illegal cos he knows i'll be right back in there!

the place is exhaust dynamics on oaklands road! this guy works in there on his own and puts alot of time into his work and the results speak for themselves.

i'll come up to your school one time and show ya

its still not going yet.. me and dad screwed around doing annoying little things which took heaps of time im at uni atm so dont have any pictures but we got most of the fuel system in neatly under the cover in the boot!

sorted out all the vac hoses rewired my central locking spent ages trying to get the brake booster hose on the back of the motor bloody tight!!

just got to drill holes for the fuel lines in the boot and wire the thermo fans and mount the computer and relays...

hopefully this weekend it could be moving :)

G'day Ben your car surely looks a treat.

I did the same conversion with my lx sedan last year. I'm located in victoria so when i got the engineers certificate it had to be street legal soundwise. Pretty sure it was around 96dB? My exhaust man said it would pass when he did my exhaust system but when i got it tested it was actually 113dB so i had to go and buy two NEW mufflers and get them fitted and then retested... now i have two spare mufflers at home, it didn't cost that much it just was inconvenient so just warning ya mate.

Good luck!

Rhys.

will make a cover to cover all this up which i will coat in sound detener cos apparently the fuel pump is a noisy bugger lol even if it is i got the exhaust to cover it up and if that fails the subwoofer :P

Doing well so far, But your fuel system set up shouldnt really be in the boot If a cop wants to be a right prick and get you a little birdy they will pin that set up if they see it,

Not having a pick, because i know people that run fuel cell's and all sorts

PM LXDAMO His hatch has all external setup with swirl pot and fits really nice,

Keep us posted :spoton:

If the pump closest to the surge tank is the EFI pump then you will have fuel problems on acceleration. You need to lift the front of the surge tank as high as possible and feed the EFI pump from the rear of the surge tank.

It would probably be better to cut the top off the surge tank so you can stand it up.

but mate theoretically the surge tank should be full at all times so this shouldn't be a issue how ever i see where your coming from and will change it..

Cheers
