Is that a dent, or the result of the whole car twisting?

Is that a dent, or the result of the whole car twisting?

Its from the front of the car getting pushed in so hard on the drivers side, it has compressed the roof panel (not from a impact on the top) the roof moved back so much it also popped the rear screen out a bit at the top.

Im not a UC Man, But i watched in amazment the footage on youtube and i must say I did love what i saw.

How did the driveline hold up to the impact, Is is salvagable or atleast the engine?

This only calls for bigger and better things to come in TAXI 2.0

Engine block is cracked,not sure about the head, the balancer was hit hard (broken off) so not sure about eng internals,turbo got a mouth full of dirt after intake was ripped off, should still be ok tho, going from impact marks in the engine bay, the engine obviously moved heaps so not sure what is good/bad at this stage.

Auto leaked a heap of fluid on the garage floor (not on the hose side) so not sure about that.

Diff is bent, but LSD centre should be ok i hope.

Put it this way i wont be able to just pull everthing out and slot it into a new shell and be on the road anytime soon.

Glad i made those vids now, at least Mumstaxi can keep on bringing a smile to a few faces (what it did best) even long after its gone ! :RIP:

hi and hardluck with mums taxi i hope no body was injured it brought a smile to my dile at powercruise so i reckon you gotta start MUMS TAXI 2 anychance of this happening?cheers billywest

No injury to humans so thats what really matters, no serious plans for mumstaxi 2 at the moment im afraid, first step will be to slowly remove all the good bits from the wreck, then when i know what i have got to work with, i can decide exactly what i can/want to do ?

Ive had the UC for a very long time (over 15yrs) and from what i have been hearing,it seems the car really had developed quite a bit of a following, i somehow just dont feel ready to tear up whats left and replace it with another car quite so soon (not that i can yet anyway), when i do get round to dissecting the UC, i will take some pics and let you know what did or didnt survive.

I just caught onto this now. That's a real shame what has happened to your car and more so that you have owned it for 15 years.

If there is anything I can do just shot me a pm. For example you find a grandma spec uc (I actually saw one the other day cruising) and I can inspect for you i will.

Actually only just last weekend started to pull stuff off the car, Zac (squarepants) is coming over tomorrow with a porta-power and some wedges he has kindly made up, this should allow us to spread the chassis rails so that the engine can be removed.

I wish I was closer so i could help you out. The Grandma spec UC I saw was yellow, bench seat front with the original number plates.

I wave at the lights to her (I was in my UC Hatch) and I tried to relate to her that we were driving the same model car, but I think she thought I was a freak.

I'll keep an eye out. Any colour?

Real shame about what happened, but its good that you're picking up some pieces and moving forward with possibly another project. I guess its a chance to maybe come up with some different ideas as well.

Also Studricho yeah its always amusing when you see old people who are totally oblivious to the fact that they're driving a Torana.

Not sure about any different ideas really, im not sure id change anything to much (maybe a bigger stall ?) but hey,it all depends on what comes my way in the way of a vehicle i spose.

I'll keep an eye out. Any colour?

What is your budget?

Really want to avoid somthing rusty if i can, so whatever colour that may come in i would look at, and i can always get it painted.

What id pay will depend on the car (including year model etc) im not in a rush and it must represent good value, I can almost use anything from a just a rolling shell, to a tidy complete 100% stock car, i would also concider something modded if it was cheap enough so i could strip it and sell bits i guess.

Then if a car is interstate and not registered/driveable, i have to factor in transport (very difficult/expensive if the car does not drive)
