g'day,does anyone know where these caps are from,are they xu1 or older style sprintmaster caps,i brought some sprintmasers 15-18 years ago but they had chrome and white plastic caps ,thanks Rob

these look like original globe caps, if you bought globe mags for globe industries or tyre dealer etc this is what you got, but if from gmh as option the caps were diff

They are the original Globe caps.....I also have a full set of the original caps but they have 34 years of dents etc.....hang onto them they are very rare and someone will give you a bit of money for them if you want to sell. I have a repro set on my xu-1...done by Brad Merrick (vic) and they are really well done.. Limo is right about their origins. Keep em.

thanks guys,mine are a bit knocked around aswell,this is one of the better ones,was it originally chrome or plated with something else.

I bought a set on ebay last year for $120, they were rather dented but apparently you can straighten them out. Brad's ones on ebay were around the $260 mark. I purchased a set of sprintmasters with the 'world' globe some years back and put them on my XU-1. Driving back the car back from a mates place one of them feel off, never found it again though. At least now I have seven.

There is an old thread on these caps.
I had a look the other night and couldn't find it.
If I remember correctly though, the thread wasn't originaly about these caps but somehow turned into them.
A bit I do remember is that the "graphic" (for want of a better term) was etched in with acid during manufacture.
Maybe search "sprintmaster"? or "nibless"?
