My son has just finished the pinstriping and numbers on this 29 Chevy rod.
The owner brought the car over and gave him a free hand to do whatever he thought would look OK. This is the first car he has done for anyone else, the owner han't even seen it yet! It should be at Phillip Island this weekend.

I like the pin striping. Yet more forum talent on display!

Love the car even more though. It might be a candidate for Rodders Life - Aurora TV - Foxtel.

Love the rear end of the car especially. Pinstriping on the cowl panel looks great too!

Thanks everyone for the positive comments. The owner has picked the car up and was pleased with the results. He rang back last night to say that his wife approved too!
LhMusL, shoot me a PM if you want to speak with him about your car. Juz is still 17 and probably shouldn't be working for beer yet

Heath, the Falcon is getting there. New floors are in, rust in the roof repaired and all panels except the roof are in black. Now he is trial fitting the front panels before final paint. The diff is out at the moment to get the rear springs reset 4" lower. Its in the backround of one of the shots of the rod l posted earlier.

We have just come back from the Kustom Nationals at Phillip Island, fantastic weekend. Hot Saturday but a big crowd with plenty of cars cruising in the evening at Cowes. Much cooler today with a huge number of rods and kustoms on display and cruising the track. The highlight for Juz was being allowed to drive the rod for a couple of laps. I snapped this shot as l went by in my 56 Chevy (the rod is left hand drive)

Just one minor comment, I wonder why he hasn't matched the wheel styles front to back?

The more I see of that car the more I like it. damn it looks hot.

Cheers

Yes, the mismatched rims thing is not my thing, but it definitely fits the whole rat rod thing.

Still looks awesome anyway you look at it.

Yeah normally run the steelies on the back and either a different style of steelies or some kinda oldschool mags on the front of a rat. I don't mind it... something different and much cheaper :P

I personally would keep the steelies and replace the front mags with nice orange painted steelies. Steelies are closer to the old skool Rat Rod theme.

Just thought of a job for someone. Photoshop some ornage stealies on the front and see how it looks ;) Would do it myself but dont know how.

The rear wheels are Ford F100 pattern, the owner is having some narrow steelies made up which will match the rears. The Cragar style fronts were from a wreckers and done in a hurry to get the car mobile.
l don't mind the mixed wheel look.
