Yep, almost 6 hours of non-stop welding yesterday by Eddie, for someone who hasn't done much welding in a while, he made it look so easy.

Can't wait Tiny, it's going to be a blast!! I dont want to be fastest, i just want to be there so yellow will do, hahaha

Your deluded.

Red is quick ,
as God had intended

and Yellow looks hot,
it's widely accepted,

But mix them to Orange
for its yet to be bested !

Hahaha it would be worth the trip Rory. If they deliver on the offer of a street stage through the CBD of the city, the sound alone would send you back home with a smile, just have to make sure there is a decent in-car camera strapped in with a decent mic for it!!

Dave

I am getting one of those ATK Helmet cams like LXCHEV has got...Look the goods with a 2MG card does 1 hour of video.
R

Whats the picture quality like on those? would love a camera of some type in or on the car, something with a decent mic.....hahaha

here ya go...

Hurry up and get those heads down here Dave!!!

Haha yeah yeah, you'll see a pair of heads not this Saturday, but next Saturday.

Thanks for that LXCHEV, the quality is pretty good!

Darren I hope the extensions will do more than just add weight to the car, I had started putting them in when I didn't think I'd have a cage for a while. So I wondered if it was still worth it after putting the cage in, but Maitland said it would be, so I went ahead with them. There wasn't much work involved, just a couple of hours going crazy with the angle grinder, hahaha.

Trailer is organised for Monday, Welby is set, so the old girl is going up for panel and paint. Will get the engine and front x-member sorted while the rest of the car is away getting done.

Will have a few more pics up before the end of the weekend.

Are you going to get your extractors ceramic coated? It will top off your awesome car, and even make it more awesome than Rory's car, cos he's too tight to get his set done! :tease:

Dave, have you tried fitting your rear spoiler yet? I believe you got it from Spoilers N Flares in Bassendean. The kit I got from them for my hatch is good except for the rear spoiler. There is no way of securing the rear of the spoiler to the hatch, also the mounts are set a bit too high & they hold the spoiler of the hatch lid.
I was wondering if your kit was the same or if I'm just "lucky"

Cheers,
Tony.

Brewster - extractors are already ceramic coated inside and out, wouldn't have it otherwise.

lx308, I picked my flares up from Spoilers n Flares two days ago. I wasn't happy with the way they mounted them just using glue, so I had them make mine with brackets so I can bolt it on. I see what you mean about it potentially sitting high, the guy has added a lip of his own around the lower edge where there is normally a gap, which I didn't know about and am not happy about, so that'll be getting ground off.

And Matt, how about you put together a cut lunch and a waterbag and deliver that 1/4 to me.......haha

Datto, been to vegas yet? When you get totally off your chops and find yourself getting married to some stranger, tell Elvis(the celebrant) I said hi.

Oh and hopefully some clearer pics up tonight of todays work which I'm about to head up to do!!!

Thanks for the info. I think I'll send my back for the same treatment & maybe get the mounting brackets set down a bit.

Cheers.

I'll throw in some news on the hatch.

We are all set to tow it north Monday. Last weekend i went to sydney and left the F350 with our Heavy Lift crew.

When i got back monday they were complaining the truck was running hot, so i put it into the local dealer for a check.

Long story short ( each day was a different fix) it's still there and they have not nailed down the source of the overheating. (always builds your confidence to have the service manager tell you they don't have any experience with the product)

So plan B.

I had one of our supervisors bring me down his 250 tray back.

Blew a tyre and tore a guard off this morning on it's way down to me.

Plan C

About to call for another supervisors f250.

We'll deliver the hatch even if we have to push it.

Welby

The word on the street is plan C will be a success!!! Welby you are a bloody legend, I'm sorry so many F trucks have had to be hurt in the making of this car, hahaha!

Another huge day on the car. I will make sure I take a camera with me tomorrow, I keep forgetting!!

Basically the car is still on the rotisserie, tomorrow will involve just welding up a few more things on the underside and getting it rolling again. Then hang all the panels and load it onto the trailer.

All the seat and harness mountings have come together perfectly, I've tried doing them to FIA spec's. I've used cromoly square tube and compensation plates where they attach to the floor.

Huge thanks to Welby for offering the services of his F truck, will make the journey so much more bearable.

Dave

Sounds like there are no mechanics working there.
