My body hurts.....hahaha another huge day, and thanks to 1UZBT1 aka Matt, aka my navigator, and another huge thanks to Welby, as well as his two young blokes Lokky and Mitchell, thanks guys!!

Had a few last minute things to do. Harness mounts and welding in some extra steel to prevent the trailing arm bolts holes from flogging out as well as throwing a front end together to get the thing rolling!!

Anyway, will definatley get some pics up tomorrow night, they are all on other people's camera's!!

Now for an early night!!

Just a quick couple of pics. Just thought I'd show a couple of clearer pics of the subframe from the bottom and the seat mountings that are now in.

Will gradually have some pics of the panel work coming and as she is prepped for paint.

Also about to start fabricating brackets for the brakes.

Quick update. Full resto isn't happening this time, just killing rust and fixing the worst parts, which has included replacing the entire lh rear 1/4 and 90% of the tail of the car. Just dont have the $$$'s to go all out, or the time for that matter.

She's taken a big hit in the ass with a previous owner which was much worse than I realised.

by no means perfect now, but a hell of alot better than it was, mate of mine has done an awesome job. Should hopefully be painted in the next week or two if all goes to plan, just doing it in it's original colour with no flares. Will hopefully look good with the 16x8 Superlites.

Machine work on engine has started, only hold up will be the rods that I'm waiting on from the states, otherwise engine will hopefully come together quickly.

Just need to find some HQ - HZ stubs and I'll start making my caliper brackets.

Hey, where did the last 12 months go!?! Ok so Targa 08 was a fail for me, and to be honest, I'm not liking my chances for 09 either. Car will be ready, but not so sure the funds and experience will be up to the level required, so at the least just looking forward to driving it.

Since last post, motor has been finished, car is now rolling with motor box etc fitted. All I have to finish off is electrics, get tail shaft built and plumb the brakes. I had a productive week last month getting it from bare shell to what you see now. I've been away for work the last 3 weeks, but I'll be home in about 10 days with high hopes to be firing her up and maybe even taking her for a maiden voyage! Here are a couple of quick pics the better half sent me the other day.

To be entirely honest I'm not super happy with the panel and paint, but it will do for now. Just cant wait to drive it, hopefully I'll be able to upload some video of her first being fired into life, fingers crossed.

Hey Dave,

The car looks great, well done!

I'm building my Hatch for IPRA without flares, and I notice your running the superlites like me, what size wheel and offset did you go for on the front? I want to run 225X50X16 on an 8" rim under the standard guards, but I reckon it might be a bit of a squeeze..

cheers,

Sam

Thanks for the comments guys, just cant wait till it's all together.

350LH, they are a 16x8 with a +4 offset (from memory). They appear at this stage to clear everything, although it is very close on the front guards, but with a bit of neg camber they should be ok. All guard lips have been rolled.

Ahhh that is hot as; the colour is so awesome and the wheels just finish it; perfect for an unflared Torrie.
