Sorry for the tardy replies.

LXCHEV, no swaybars fitted yet, but on the front I have a 28mm forward mounting selby kit, and on the back the same but only 18mm. For the front I would have preferred to fit a rearward mount of my own design, but my collectors hang too low, which is something else that will have to be fixed at a much later date.

As for events, the hill climb on the 20th sounds like a realistic goal. I'll have a week home between now and then so I should have a chance to fix the gearbox and fit up my bars. Then just needs a bit of a tune.

As for all the other dates, I'm pretty sure I'll be at work unfortunately.

And I promised more pics but I keep running out of time!! Will get some up when sway bars are fitted.

Thanks again for the generous comments guys!

Regards

Dave

Hahahaha, just reading my last post, "...20th Dec seems like a realistic goal...", maybe I meant Dec 2010!!

Another quick update, put the old girl on the dyno today to make sure the fuel and ignition were ok. Straight off the bat I had her pretty close, not bad for a Holley straight out of the box! First run saw about 380hp, highest run saw about 394hp and loads of torque everywhere. Was not expecting quite that much, but I'm not complaining!!

This is a print out of the last run. Just went a bit smaller in the air bleeds, and took about 1 degree of timing out and she was looking/sounding pretty good.

Posted Image

With only 500Km's on the clock, she should free up a little more yet.

Thanks to Ozzyozzy for organising the dyno for me.

Dave

Dave that's a great result, first time I've been in here in a very long time and I just had to check in on your progress. To make near on 400 at the tyres is indicative of high 400s at the flywheel which I think will be more than enough. Hope you get a chance to use that power soon!

Also we must catch up, it's been far too long mate.

Great to hear from you Dave, I'm only on here once in a blue moon myself. Yeah very happy with the results, not so happy the last week or so though. Found alot of water in the oil. Pulled manifold off and it appears to have been leaking past the inlet gasket, so have re-sealed it with a new gasket. Haven't had a chance to run it yet to see if it's fixed, maybe tomorrow, I have a temporary movement notice for the weekend.

How is the XD going btw? Have some OM17's laying around that might need a home.....?! hahaha, as Neil said be good to all get together again soon.

G'day torrific, had a mate paint it for me, so was mates rates. Believe it or not I can't honestly remember how much he charged me. I have heard of people paying in Perth anywhere from 3k to 10k just for paint, depending on quality. A lot of shops still very busy doing hail damage. Might be worth talking to a couple of the other Perth members who have had theirs done.

I probably should put a quick update up as well. Car is registered again. Took her out on big als poker run and ace Ford run, both a lot of fun. Unfortunately on initial advice from ozyozyozy I have pulled my motor out to replace the oil pump drive gear with a bronze unit. As we're both running billet solid rollers, its come to light the cam gear gets chewed out, so I'm hoping to have caught mine before any damage has been done. So motor came out last week, depending on work, I'm hoping to slot her back in sometime next week. I'm raising my trans tunnel as well to correct the gearbox angle.

Then finally track time!
