I've been thinking about transplanting a S50B32 (BMW M3 3.2L 6) into my LJ. I've found that some one else has done on into an FJ.

How does the FJ engine bay compare to an LJ? Smaller / larger? The biggest issue would be that everything will have to be custom made, but before I think about it too much more I'd like to here some opinions on weather or not you guys think it will fit without sheet metal changes. Im also looking at using the 6 speed that bolts up to the engine, so I think I might be up for some tunnel mods.

Let me know what you think

I might be wrong, but i would have thought the FJ might have a wider and deeper engine bay than the the LJ.

deeper and wider..but only wider in the top part of the subframe area.. If you have seen the pictures, just to give you an idea I have just put a VK injected motor into a FJ.. very little room either side once all add on are put on....I will get some measurements from the FJ and compare them to the LJ...
