H4's were standard fit in the SS and both the hatch and sedan version of the A9X, including the race versions.
Just back on the paint around the windows and bonnet on an A9X. I've been told they were done factory, and I've also been told they were done at Pattersons. I was always under the belief they left the factory as a complete roller with no flares, but sedans had rear spoilers, the same as any SLR5000 would. They were then sent to Patto's and the guards cut, flares and bonnet scoop fitted and painwork completed, put back on the truck to the factory and dispersed to dealers. A GMP&A race shell skipped the trip to Patto's and left the factory with no flares fitted, so looking like a plain white hatch with GTS rims and all the right bits inside bar front engine and gearbox basically

I had another look, just wondering how you can tell the SS at the front doesn't have H4's?
Its just my interpretation. They look to be more rounded than the flat face of the H4. I can usually pic a H4 from a mile away but the angle of the camera may not be giving a true indication. The colour of the car does look more Valencia than Papaya which if true would indicate a later production.

If you had a time machine, you'd go back buy a few of these things new, still with the stickers all over them and put them in the shed, return to this time period and make a fortune lol
Not wrong! I would get the most desirable colours too! All hatchbacks! Maybe a few XU1s and GTHO's too while I'm there... Would also put aside a few perfect SL shells for me to use as project starters! LOL...

Having worked on magazines for the best of a decade I can tell you that it's not an easy business. I've worked for the bigtime publishers with huge teams of staff and the small independents and it does get tough meeting deadlines. You have to rely on the car owners being available for photo shoots, then they have to fill out tech sheets and make themselves available to be interviewed and then proof read their story before it is sent in to the editor. Then you have to rely on the journo's to get their act together and write the yarn and send it in with the pics. Of course you have to then do the editing and send it off to the design crew who have to lay it out and send it back to the editorial crew for more editing. Then it has to be printed, shipped to the distributor and then sent out to the newsagents. Every person in the process has to wait for the person before them to supply on time, which rarely ever happens and if you lose one day of production it equates to a week lost at the printer. So you can imagine what happens if each person in the chain is one day late - that equates to minimum six weeks lost.HatchmanSS76 is absolutely right

Even if the head man was very ill then I am sure there would have been a 2 IC to take over the reigns and if not the case then a simple explanatiion on a few websites would have let people know the reason for the delay.
It is called "common courtesy and good business sense"

Big time publishers with bigger budgets and more staff have enough backlogged material and enough staff to cover this sort of thing although they do have their dramas from time to time. Small independently owned magazines such as Just Holdens don't have it so easy. Just Holdens has a total staff of 3 people working on each issue of the magazine, which is about 15-20 less than most competitors and have a greater reliance on contributors and owners doing things on time. Add to that, if one person gets crook the whole system falls apart. These guys certainly don't have the time to sit around surfing the net all day as they are very busy.
Anyway, I'm not trying to bust your balls mate... just giving an insight into the magazine industry.
P.S Check out the name of the person who wrote the yarn on Pete Thompson's white A9X towards the back of Just Holdens A9X special edition... yep that's me

I'm just a freelance journo, but I will say that if you keep persevering and putting your name out there, a lucky break will eventually come your way

I guess 'cos it doesn't have much fresh info. It's all been covered before.
Even the small articles on Harry and the import drivers is a word for word copy of other articles.
There are some new pics from the factory but that's it.
Even the pics of Peter's A9X and Rockets Replica have been seen before (not to detract from the great cars)
I'm a bit pissed at paying almost 10 bucks for a couple of new pics, in a mag that is essentially a copy of older mags.
Welby
Take that into account, the fact that this issue was coming out in February and I only got my 2 copies mailed to me last Monday (11 August) which is about 2 weeks after it hit the stands then go figure what was the delay.
Eric did say he was waiting on the pics of the production line to turn up but I still say the lines of communications should have been better for those who had subscribed or had pre-paid, like me for copies.
In saying all of that, I just love this issue and have one in a plastic cover put away and one to peruse at my lounge room chair side when ever I feel like having a Torana FIX.

i wish i had a time machine... Plus i would bring back any parts that people need.
It's not that simple Matt! Haven't you seen Back To The Future? If you mess with the space time continuum, you risk stuffing up the way the future pans out. Going back, and bringing back A9X's and spare parts could be catastrophic!!
