This may be a dumb question to ask but are 17inchers even legal in any state on a Torana?
I always thought legal was 2 inches bigger than the largest size on the tyre placard which is 13in on my LX sedan.

Dont know bout sa, but in qld they go off the rolling diameter now not wheel size. So as long as i stay within +15 or -26mm of the rolling diameter its legal no matter if its 13's, 17's or 22's for example. This also includes the largest optional tyre for that model so for lh its the L34 wheels/tyres

nah its not legal the two size up law apllies here aswell!!

but having a blown injected big block,s not exactly legal either!!
ive actualy been told by the local blue army not to bother regoing my car
cause the minute they see it on bitumen theyre taking it off!!

not very nice now is it lol!!!

I got my application approved from transport to run 17x8's and 17x10's on the LX.

Tassie goes off the rolling diameter aswell for the rim height and tyre, but the width goes off the original tyre size.
The NCOP for tassies says.

"Tyres fitted to passanger cars must not be more than 30% wider than vehicle manufacturer's widest optional tyre"
"The rim width must not exceed the recommendations for the tyre fitted"

The A9X torana ran 14x6 rims with DR70H14 tyres, Bob Jane confirmed these as being a 205/70/14
30% wider is 1.3x205=266.5, allowing a 265 tyre to be used and a maximum allowable rim width of 10in, Nice....

I just received my 18 inch RoH adrenalin wheels. they look awesome on the car. car is still in build but am undecided on paint choice. Do you mind sharing your paint colour. It looks awesome....

That is my blue hatch in the pics above with the modenas on it. I have been a long time viewer of this site but never posted. They are 18X10.5 on the back and 18X9.5 on the front.

They are ROH adrenalin custom made. took 4 months for them to arrive so be prepared to wait. I had them made with custom offsets to fit under the car and get the best look/ max dish etc. They were $660 a wheel wholesale price i am led to believe

I got the idea of seeing a black hatch on the ROH website with the same wheels. it looked fnnn awesome. if i didn't get these I would have gone FR series wheels from simmons

These are ADR design Hypermesh, 17x8.5 on all four corners.
275/40/17 on the back, 235/40/17 on the front.
Not sure that I like them yet! Gotta make up some centre caps too...

They have an 8" version of the wheel too if a 9" is a little wide for some people. (I just had picked some up in both sizes...)

No I'm on the mainland, sold the VR a while ago but as far as I know its still local.

I struggle to like a lot of the big wheels but I had to come up with something that would allow decent brakes and good tyres. They're actually quite cheap but freight is pricey.

I like the mirrors.
